Give me a book on the porch with birds chirping and I'm happy. Daughters, a granddaughter, husband and the dog. 🧢⚾️🐦

Sorting stuff into albums, I found my favorite Hummingbird video. It was in September 2022 not long before they migrated south. I did actually live outside that month. 🪶🌱 #birds #FlowerReport
There was sunshine today and the House Finch claimed the finch feeder. The Chipping Sparrows seem to believe it beings to them. 🪶

Tuesday was rainy, and gloomy, but a good day to watch the feeder under a cover to see how many small birds would squeeze in. 🪶

Once upon a time a Carolina Wren sat quietly and every other time they did not.

Oh my goodness, I almost missed that today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #HangingAround, birds at unusual angles. 'Apapane are superb at Bird Yoga, as this young one is showing, sipping Pukiawe flowers. 🦉🌿📷

Most of my life has been rage, bitterness, and exhaustion. It's good to have been able to find a place near the end of the Earth to slow down and chill.

I hope you can find that near the end of wherever you are.

In the meantime, enjoy tonight's pelican festival 🪶

We have some farms west and south of our local conservancy that attract a few migrators every year. There were a few dozen on Saturday. Here is a very large male who was standing tall over all the migrators watching over things and his female. Both beautiful Sandhills!

One handy-dandy aspect of red cardinaless is how well they contrast with browns, grays, twigs and pond water ....

The #BirdOfTheDay theme from @robcrank68.bsky.social is "hanging around" or unusual angles. The answer to that is usually a Tufted Titmouse. #birdbutt #birds

For #Twosday here are 2 scared little Chipping Sparrows. In between rain showers the feeders were busy until the rain returned. Then I spotted these Chippers. As 5 minutes went by I realized they must have frozen after hearing a predator. Then a hawk landed by the road and left with lunch.😬🪶

Who is that? It's s Ruby- crowned Kinglet! That's not who I thought I saw through the #DirtyWindowFilter™️ on this rainy morning! There's been one chattering in the wild area beside our yard for a couple of weeks. 🪶
