A golden retriever puppy can make it snow in the back yard with the fiberfil from a doghouse soft bed. I can't even remember if it was our 1st or 2nd golden. Teddy is in a class of his own. (The turkey was an ill advised gift.)

For several days my usual birds have been traveling elsewhere. Today some were back and the Chipping Sparrows act like they own the place. These two did not want to share a roomy feeder! They've tried to repel any bird that's not a Cardinal or Woodpecker! 🪶

Today's #BirdOfTheDay is #Round. In January there was snow and all my birds were borbs. The porch chairs were popular. White-throated Sparrow and an Eastern Phoebe 🪶

Looking for a round borb in last January, I came across some finchy chaos. I had not noticed this busy feeder minute involved House Finches, Goldfinches, a Purple Finch (female), Chipping Sparrows and a White-breasted Nuthatch. The Purple Finch needed her space, she'd traveled a long way! 🪶

There were birds chattering and calls in the distance, but no birds were seen for about thirty minutes this morning. A Red-headed Woodpecker was calling in the distance so I found a photo from last spring when they were disappointed in a empty suet feeder. 🪶

This is a shot of one of the two Bald Eagles that visited in October for a week. Today I looked up to see two flying low over my house and headed to a nearby lake. They are soooo big! #Twosday

In the afternoon the new to the neighborhood Chipping Sparrows found the feeders! This was better than looking for scattered seeds under the feeders! The parent and 2 summer fledglings that nested here may not like sharing. 🪶

This is one of the three silly TuftedTitmice who are likely siblings. This was just before smashing the seed on a branch, stopping 2 feet away from me at a plant saucer of water then playing in a camelia bush with the others. It took a week to get used to me. 🪶 #BirdOfTheDay for"shades of gray"

After a couple of weeks of one White-throated Sparrow keeping me company with soft cheeps in the shrubs another one joined from the other side of the porch. Today two were spotted in the crape myrtle bush that now has wonderful small branches instead of flowers and leaves. 🪶

Suddenly there were more than the 3 Chipping Sparrows that were here all summer. It was like trying to keep up with popcorn. When they flew off it looked like there were 8 sparrows. 🪶
