Pretty good writer. Reasonably competent HusbandParentMusician. Passable teacher. Old, stubborn, and grumpy. Forever fighting book bans, ignorance, and cruelty. He/Him.

24 years of teaching we've gone from respected public servants who educated kids, to ungrateful babysitters, to snowflakes propagandizing "critical race theory" to "social justice" to "woke," and forcing kids to read "pornography."

Now we're terrorists.

The clowncar to authoritarianism is real.

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, I would have you remember that there are trans people alive who need your action now, not your reflective words later.

Remembering us is not enough.

As an 8th grade teacher, this is the first year in a decade that I haven't had any openly trans students in my classes. It's sad that these kids who were feeling they could more safely be themselves, now have to hide themselves away.
This has been one of the hardest years to be transgender in nearly a century. Today we remember all the sisters and brothers we've lost to the surging tide of hate, and redouble our resolve to support and defend one another at a time when few others will. Hold out. We'll see the other side together.

Watched The Beast In Me, and mostly liked it. Just wondering why so many shows have like some big flashback episode right before the finale, especially one that no one needs, and the narrative doesn’t need either.

When I think of AI I think of Prince being asked about holograms of dead celebrities:

“That's the most demonic thing imaginable.… If I was meant to jam with Duke Ellington, we would have lived in the same age. That whole virtual reality thing... it really is demonic. And I am not a demon."

this is truly one of my favorite episodes of the year, where Sarah and I get a chance to talk about our favorite books published in 2025. ❤️
It's that time of year! We're talking about the Best Romance Novels of 2025. We've chosen ten books that we love and that cover a range of historical, contemporary and paranormal, featuring romance with werewolves and cowboys, vaudeville actresses and vikings, Dukes and the actual Devil.

NEW: The White House intervened on behalf of accused sex trafficker Andrew Tate during a federal investigation.

“It was so offensive to what we’re all here to do, to uphold the law and protect the American people,” one official involved said.

our leaders are so small that they have to diminish our heroes.
Removing a monument honoring Black US soldiers has nothing to do with DEI. It’s erasure of history and it’s straight-up racism.

When I got my brain MRI, it was because I had COVID so severely, my doctor worried I'd had a stroke. I needed testing immediately to figure out the best treatment, and I got it--and paid $2,000 after my employer insurance.
Rand Paul's idea of sending more money directly to people "so they can negotiate better deals" is absurd. An MRI is not like a car or laptop. Most people do not have time to call around to check for prices and reviews of facilities or doctors, on top of checking if they accept an insurance plan.

I love great novellas, and you all need to put these two urban fantasies by @veronicarothbooks.com on your list, When Among Crows, and To Clutch A Razor. Writing the second book in a series isn't easy, but this one is amazing.

Looking forward to more in the Curse Bearer series. 🙌
