My local bookseller wrote this AMAZING review of Someone's Gonna End Up Crying. "Reading a really good children’s book as an adult is an absolute delight." YEAH! Let's tell EVERYONE. #mglit #kidlit 😍 bitter-meteoroid-729.notion.site/Enthusiasms-...
Enthusiasms: Kari Meutsch on “Someone’s Gonna End Up Crying” by Jo Knowles | Notion
Reading a really good children’s book as an adult is an absolute delight. I’ve had this conversation with quite a few of our customers lately, as we are all on the search for our next great read. Some...

Same. I keep bringing it up as if I haven’t already b/c it _feels_ like no one is listening but I think the truth is no one knows how to properly respond, including myself. Maybe a collective scream is in order. I don’t know. This one felt different. More disturbing than his usual gross nicknames.
I don't know why the "Piggy" thing is bothering me so much. It's one more unforgivable thing in a list of 20,000 unforgivable things, but I've been mad about it for like 12 straight hours.

Going through my in-laws' papers and found the lyrics to a song Lou sent to Pat. At the bottom of the letter he wrote, "I would sing it to you but I would cry." Remembering them as they were before everything got so terrible is like losing them all over again.

Hello, Vermont! Can we please follow this model?
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Authors, Beware! There's a firm called "ClaimsHero" doing aggressive social media outreach claiming to
"help" you file to get $ in the Anthropic class action. In fact, it's a bait-and-switch, they are luring authors to sign up with them, then OPTING THEM OUT of the class action so they'll get zilch.

Also in case its not being mentioned in your feed, there is still a remaining vote for this and Somehow they didn't anticipate the outrage, so there's apparently some hesitation now.

If those were your senators, call them and don't stop. I will also be calling even though they arent mine
Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.

No matter how they voted last night, every one of them has a say in maintaining Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin as their caucus leaders. Every one of them is accountable here.

Spent the day at the Vermont Progressive Party State Committee Meeting and spent the night getting the terrible news that I did the right thing. The Democratic Party has failed us again. It’s time for meaningful change. progressiveparty.org

Sanders: Let’s be clear… If this vote succeeds, over 20 million Americans are going to see at least a doubling in their premiums… if resolution is passed tonight, we are on a path way to throw 15 million Americans off of medicaid and the affordable care act, 15 million.

Every single Democratic senator that votes to cave on this should be immediately ejected from the party, and the national party should immediately start running primary candidates in their districts.

There is no bipartisanship possible with traitors and fascists. You either fight, or die.

When millions of people are suffering and dying because they cannot access health care, it is a moral wrong. It's also going to have catastrophic intergenerational repercussions. So many of us already can't afford food, housing, and other basic needs and this is a recipe for disaster.

If a budget deal goes through without restoring Medicaid & ACA subsidies, they will never be restored.

That's a death sentence for millions of Americans but also to the entire republic and economy: Health care is a for-profit business generating TREMENDOUS economic activity & will grind to a halt.

Asking anyone who's got energy to do so to call their Dem Senators and urge them not to back down on healthcare. 🙏

Your friends who are too sick to work to access healthcare are going to be really fucked otherwise. Being too sick to work means no paycheck to cover now-exorbitant marketplace plans.

If you're represented by one of the squishier centrists, be sure to make a call. Now.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Finally watched Zohran Mamdani's victory speech and I almost fuckin cried. I got real goosebumps. This is what we need.

Stop listening to the loudest and most out-of-touch pundits screaming about moving to the centre. Be bold and unrelenting in caring about each other.

TURN THE VOLUME UP!

Don't forget that Zohran Mamdani spent his entire campaign standing proudly beside the trans community. He went to trans rights rallies just to show support. He proudly waved trans rights flags without hesitation. He refused to back down in support of trans rights. That makes me happy.
