Pretty good writer. Reasonably competent HusbandParentMusician. Passable teacher. Old, stubborn, and grumpy. Forever fighting book bans, ignorance, and cruelty. He/Him.
I love great novellas, and you all need to put these two urban fantasies by @veronicarothbooks.com on your list, When Among Crows, and To Clutch A Razor. Writing the second book in a series isn't easy, but this one is amazing.

Looking forward to more in the Curse Bearer series. 🙌

Drew Struzan was my entire childhood. Such a masterful painter that made me love movies even more. He died today at 78, and I know that's a long life, but I'm still really sad about that little bit of empty space in the world.

There's a great documentary about him, Drew: The Man Behind The Poster.

Broke out the Halloween decorations, and here’s a favorite: Dee Jay Voorhees.

Are we, meaning me, doing Halloween names this year? Can’t go wrong with my actual name: Greg GORY Andree 🎃🎃🎃

Don’t want to say that there’s a growing taste for cannibalism in the United States, but I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on my new shirt @moxiest.art 🤔
September 28, 2025 at 2:37 PM
I love this art by Abi Cushman. It makes me think of a page I stared at for hours when I was little from Go Dog Go . . .

Going on 24 hours of “sorry for the inconvenience, our system is currently down” on the page to cancel Hulu/Disney+

I imagine they think that if it’s down long enough people will chill out about this, but I’ve got ASD, and my new favorite fidget is tapping that cancel button.

Been canceling my Hulu Disney for an hour, and being sent in circles, and now this…

A teacher I work with wanted to do a “secret” scavenger hunt as a team bonding activity. So my role today is to act perplexed when kids show me pictures they’ve found.

Luckily, that’s my go-to state of mind.

I loved urban fantasy as a teenager, especially Charles deLint. I’m currently reading @veronicarothbooks.com ‘s When Among Crows, and it stacks up with the best of them.

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't grunge.

I listened to Ben Folds Five debut nonstop. Boxing is such a perfect song, along with My Philosophy.

Early 1900s my grandfather, Ivan "Happy" Andree, worked in the iron mines of Minnesota, and a member of the Wobblies. The Industrial Workers of the World was a union worked to unite all workers regardless of skill, race, or gender.

As the GOP undermines unions, we need that Wobblies' energy.

Just when I thought the day couldn’t get better (after my new 8th graders told me New Balance is the newest cool sneaker), Zed Moonstein Makes a Friend @lancerubinparty.bsky.social arrived at my door (in complementary colors to my cool shoes). 😅
August 28, 2025 at 10:08 PM
1) "Wokesters."
2) What a fucking loser.
3) Definitely getting a shirt that says: "Wokester."
4) Is the name of my new band Wokester?
5) Anyone want to form a punk brass band with me?

Not saying anything that hasn't been said about Murderland by Caroline Fraser, but the way she shows the horrors committed by serial killers, side by side with the horrors of corporate greed, and how that greed helped to create those killers, then willingly became killers themselves- it's brilliant.
August 6, 2025 at 2:08 PM
If you loved James Gunn’s Superman, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will give you a peek into his cousin, and why she’s such a mess. Looking forward to this movie next 🙌

“Dystopia appeals to me, and I’m quietly contemplating the end of human civilization.”

I appreciate how @calfraser.bsky.social tells this complicated story, grounding it by using her life at the time of events, here watching Star Trek while Ted Bundy commits atrocities at a college in Florida.
August 1, 2025 at 2:19 PM
Listening to Murderland: Crime and Bloodlust in the Time of Serial Killers by @calfraser.bsky.social

And serial killers aside, she is just lining up nightmare after nightmare from a terrified squirrel carried off into the darkness by an owl, to oligarchs sacrificing us to every pollutant. 😱😭😓

Look what just cam in the mail, a new novella from my favorite author, @ldlewiswrites.com

Looks like I’m clearing my schedule this morning to read The Dead Withheld, published by @neonhemlock.bsky.social
