organizing can look like: finding a mutual in your state/city who also talks about the same bills as you and divvying up work on contacting your reps/senators. you can also share info about the responses you’re getting. i’ve even organized w/ folks who could visit the offices directly.
I agree with this entirely.

Talking about it locally also encourages local attention. Find your people w/in your communities.
I would also add this - urge everyone to contact state elected officials, which include governor, state representatives, state senators, etc., as well as local officials. Ask them if they condone this or not, especially when some could be running for Congress in the 2026 midterm elections.

I'm boosting myself to say this:

You're going to see people On Here tell you calling electeds doesn't matter. That's not true.

Some are bots. Some are people who like being contrary to be edgy.

But calling moves the needle, especially against a blatantly illegal act by Trump and Co. ACT.
Candid answer - as someone who handled constituent affairs calls for years - while they’re not checking the phone right now, the urgency of the moment is important.

Show them you care enough to make the weekend call, and be counted that way. Staffers will clock and report this upstream.
Is there actually a benefit to leaving a VM now vs getting a staffer on Monday? Can do both but just curious

Forever for me is Into The Woods. The only show I ever saw on Broadway, way back in 1988 on a school trip. Totally exploded my mind.

Consider this another reminder to follow Dr. Stout.

He was my advisor at Hopkins and ex intel, and if you've followed me long enough to see me say follow expertise, follow him.

He knows what to look for/what to track in this mess of a situation.
To me, this sounds like the first tangible sign of things going wrong for Trump’s (non) plan.

But I’m a former intelligence analyst and this a glass half empty kind of guy.
VP Delcy Rodriguez, whom Trump indicated earlier today was collaborating with the US government, is live on television right now.

Earlier reports that she's in Russia are false. She's in Caracas with the rest of the cabinet.

Also: follow Dr. Mark Stout, my former Hopkins advisor.

He’s ex intel, an incredible historian, and knows how to read/track the situation.
They didn’t even plan for this? Fricking amateur hour. Screwup by Trump and Rubio.
FOX & FRIENDS: What do you think is next for the Venezuelan people now that you have removed Maduro so he can face American justice?

TRUMP: Well, we're making that decision now. We can't take a chance on letting somebody else run it, just take over where he left off. So we're making that decision

I hated the finale and lazy writing of the Stranger Things finale so much, but at the same time love those kids who grew up acting on that show.

They deserved much better on the page than what they got.

Just finished Dune Prophecy on HBO, which takes place 10k years before Muad Dib and all that.

I think what I like most about Dune, the books, the movies, the series, is that everyone is the worst. There is no one to rightfully root for. They're all monsters.

The thing about being an educator working in PK-12 is you learn very quickly how little so many adults value and respect children. Even those whose job is to teach them. Children have agency. All adults - including parents and educators - should protect that.
The running theme between the Epstein story, banning trans healthcare for minors, religious homeschooling and the complaints about adult children estranging themselves is a fundamental American belief that children are property with no rights of their own
America is a culture of child abuse. Ask any survivor - we find one another, we form networks and communities.

The true scale of it would stagger and sicken you, and so it is buried, it is swept under the rug, it is denied and the survivors are silenced by whatever means are necessary.

Someone said it before me, but I've repeated it a few times:

Everything went wrong when someone decided music should be free.

EVERYTHING.
I’ve spent this morning morbidly watching the MTV channels close down and the final songs played were:
MTV Music - Video Killed the Radio Star (Buggles)
Club MTV - Don’t Stop the Music (Rihanna)
MTV 90s - Goodbye (Spice Girls)
MTV 80s - Together in Electric Dreams (Oakey and Moroder)

Wow. This final season of BARRY was entirely void of humor and joy.

Though I do appreciate when anti-heroes have absolutely no redemption from the fate they created for themselves.

But omg. I appreciate what they tried to do, but hated it so much.

As the shadows of WWII loomed over London, Lee Miller’s art took on a new urgency. In her courageous hands, the stuff of war looked positively alluring as she produced photos that were odd, spirited — and possessed a quality of defiant humor.

From her collaborations with Man Ray to her work as a WWII photographer, the artist retained a mix of defiance, poignance, and brazen, oddball humor.
