I had an abortion in my 20s - I know how important it is that women have control over our own bodies and don't face criminalisation for our choices.

I am so glad to be 1 of 379 MPs who successfully voted to decriminalise abortion today - an historic vote to protect a woman's right to choose.
MPs have voted to decriminalise abortion

In a historic step, the House of Commons backed an amendment by Labour MP Tonia Antoniazzi which proposed that women no longer face prosecution if they end a pregnancy after 24 weeks or without approval from two doctors

Strange how all the people over here who were enthusiastic about Musk and DOGE now all seem to have other things they want to talk about.

You are lost in the Berlaymont. You come to a corridor with two identical doors guarded by two identical Presidents of the European Commission. You can ask one of them only one question to escape. One of them is always Ursula von der Leyen and the other is always Ursula von der Telling The Truth.

Feel this is intuitively right. Maybe I've just not clocked it in the same way, but since moving south it's never felt that there's "the posh town" in the same way as in the north.
The results are highly geographically clustered, even after accounting for demographics. Areas with a history of heavy industry or mining seem to be much more economically segregated than the rest of Britain:

Was hideously unwell this weekend and so binged this today: a really shocking watch, but astoundingly well done. Struck again and again by the bravery of those who had left and their love for their families.

This is obviously horrific but some of the people appalled kinda need to look in the mirror. I'm not sure I'm the only woman on here who suddenly noticed people treating her like an adult when the wedding ring appeared so, yeah, it's a thing (and I work in the hyper-liberal charity sector)
And good morning to you too.

Almost as if, bear with me here, Reform voters aren’t just Tory voters who got confused in the polling booth.
Conservative and Reform UK voters are divided on whether the parties should merge into a single party

Finally watched Kneecap - which was fantastic - but made the error of watching it with my parents. Not cos of the sex and drugs, more that Mum is now telling us all about the plight of Irish Catholics through the ages for the 50th time, as if that’s not the reason I wanted to watch the film anyway 😂

When feminists say "the personal is political" this is EXACTLY what they mean.

We have a 'gender exercise gap'. Women are spending far less time exercising than men.

But why?

I had an interesting dig around into what's going on for @inews.co.uk

'I don't get time to exercise - but my husband runs marathons'
New research shows men are prioritising their health and wellbeing in a way that women are not, which begs the question: why is this happening? Hannah Fearn explores the growing gender exercise divide
