Not a single Republican showed. Pathetic.
You can listen live to the hearing held only by Democrats to commemorate the 5th anniversary of January 6th. It speaks volumes about the state of our democracy that no Republican Members of Congress are participating here, in what should be a bipartisan event.

If Dems talked like this regularly, we wouldn't have to focus on "how to win close elections in difficult environments." We would have a lot fewer close elections, and a lot fewer difficult environments.
Walz is out of Fs: "Not a single Republican supported this, so every Minnesotan from here on, whoever uses this program, there is no bit of thanks that would go to the R legislators who did all they could to stop this ... our schools have money to pay their teachers? I'll take credit for that too."

I believe the original sin Democrats, and especially the Biden administration, made after January 6th was viewing January 6th as the *end* of something, rather than the *beginning* of something. My post on how to remember this somber anniversary for democracy: www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/five-ways-...
Five Ways To Remember January 6th
Too many people saw January 6th as the final aggrieved death throes of Trumpism. We can now understand it was the start of something much darker.

I don't know if you need much evidence that Ackman has no principles but he led the charge to remove Claudine Gay from President of Harvard on *much* weaker evidence of academic misconduct. Then he threatened to pursue plagiarism accusations of anyone who pointed to his wife's alleged plagiarism.
Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman has revealed that he’s helping Francesca Gino, the honesty researcher who was fired from Harvard for research misconduct. “We will provide whatever resources she needs to clear her name,” he wrote.

He says we should honor the police, not the people who tried to tear democracy down.

The Republican lawmakers who are listening to this know Trump is lying. They approve of him lying because they think it helps keep them in power so they can stuff more money in their pockets.
Trump: "Transgender for everyone! Bring your kids in, we're gonna change the sex of your child. Just send them our way. In some cases, like in Minnesota, they don't even tell the parents. Nobody believes it when I say it. They operate on the kid, they don't tell the parents. It's not believable."

Flagging now that opponents of democracy could deploy these at polling places with facial recognition to track everyone that goes to vote. Not all polling places; probably disproportionately ones in communities of color. That could have a chilling effect on voting in some places.

"President Trump was by a large measure the most culpable and most responsible person in this conspiracy. These crimes were committed for his benefit. The attack that happened at the Capitol, part of this case, does not happen without him."

hes not right at all. the republicans are part of the crew looting the bank. the response is not to say "the looters must stop looting." he should be saying "theyre all a bunch of looters, elect us to stop looting, we are the anti-looting party" but that would be effective and schumer is not.
A lot of people are mad at Schumer for saying this. But he's right. Democrats don't control a single branch of government and they can't pass anything. Only Republicans can rein in Trump because they control both chambers of Congress. Democrats have no cards to play here.
Schumer: "Republicans must -- if there was ever a time, they must step up to the plate. This is the time. And if they don't, they're gonna feel the heat from their constituents."
