Bari Weiss, really? Really.

Bari Weiss: 60 Minutes segment failed to show Government view that CECOT detainees are due judicial review

On right:

Judge Boasberg Dec 22: "The Government itself has not even contested that the detainees who now make up the CECOT class received inadequate process prior to their removal"

After Epstein's 2019 death "prosecutors produced a seven-page memo on co-conspirators they might consider charging and followed that with an 86-page update in December ... a 13-page memo of corporate prosecutions they might pursue and a 26-page memo regarding another target prosecutors considered."
New trove of apparent Epstein files posted on DOJ site disappear
The Justice Department didn’t respond to requests for comment on the new documents or the decision to remove them.

This is stunning. Blanche is claiming, with a straight face, that the only federal prison where a convicted sex offender can adequately be protected from other inmates just so happens to be a minimum security prison that gives her puppy playdates.

Truly preposterous.
WELKER: Why was Ghislaine Maxwell moved just days after you interviewed her?

BLANCHE: That's a Bureau of Prisons security issue that I will not talk about

WELKER: Did you have anything to do with it?

BLANCHE: I am responsible for the Bureau of Prisons, so every decision they make lands on my desk

EPSTEIN: If Todd Blanche's is correct when he said on Meet the Press that Trump has wanted the Epstein files released from even before the election, then why weren't they, and why is Blanche simultaneously saying DOJ could not meet the Congressional deadline because they now need more time?

This is key; the biggest thing that didn't happen yesterday is neither Trump nor DOJ stated that everything with Trump's name on it or with his image has been disclosed.
If you have nothing to hide, wouldn't that be what you would do?
Instead, looks like DOJ is continuing the cover-up, as Ryan notes
A key to understand how the Bondi DOJ may be trying to hide information on other men implicated in Epstein's crimes:

Note how Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche's letter to Congress says DOJ is redacting information not only permitted by the Epstein Act but also ... the Privacy Act.⬇️

DAG Blanche says DOJ takes white-collar investigations seriously, but its website has just a single new FCPA (foreign bribery) case all this year.
Now, he says if DOJ improperly targets a company, he will hold against them if it spoke the truth about DOJ's deficient performance.

That's justice?
Todd Blanche is now warning lawyers who criticize Trump's Justice Department:

The DOJ's No. 2 official suggested that lawyers might have a harder time winning lenient treatment for corporate clients if they've publicly accused the Trump administration of being lax on white-collar crime.

DOJ’s No. 2 official said says prosecutors see "inconsistency" in attorneys’ private pleas and public commentary.

41 minutes of watching two shipwrecked men trying to flip a boat and signaling for surrender/help before firing on them again reminds me of the 9.5 minutes Derek Chauvin knelt on George Floyd’s neck, in that it’s an agonizingly long time to be killing helpless people who clearly posed no threat.

All true re the contempt proceedings for Judge Boasberg. Noem also doesn’t say whether she was ordered to do continue the transfers by anyone at the White House.

NEW info on shipwreck attack. It gets worse.

The 2 survivors climbed atop wreckage and waved to overhead.

"Some of the people viewing the video thought ... could have been an attempt to surrender"

Others "said the most logical explanation was ... signaling for a rescue."

By law, the Department of Justice CAN go to another grand jury and try again. But even if they succeed (a big IF in this case), the DOJ will have handed Letitia James even more evidence for her vindictive prosecution motion to dismiss the charges. And that motion was already quite strong.
A separate source familiar with the matter said there “should be no premature celebrations.”
