The emails have Summers reporting to Epstein about his attempts to date a Harvard economics student & to hit on her during a seminar she was giving.

I'm ill. Unsurprised, but ill.

Trump is ever exploring the contours of his violence-curious side. Attaining the presidency allowed him to look deeper into the Pandora's box he'd been dancing around for years. He's out of his depth with this crew and freaking out.

On it!
I just called the Center for American Progress and told them I will have nothing to do with their org until they get rid of Larry Summers. A VERY NICE person answered the phone - if you call, BE NICE TO WHOEVER ANSWERS THEY PERSONALLY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS. (202) 682-1611
“Despite shocking new emails detailing the close friendship between Epstein and Summers released by the House Oversight Committee this week, the CAP employee said they had heard of no plans to remove Summers from the organization, or the policy planning around Project 2029.”

What is so terribly broken about the Democratic policy world that anyone thought tapping *Larry Summers* for future economic policy was a reasonable thing to do, rather than completely unhinged?
NEW: Before the recent Epstein disclosures, Larry Summers was poised to lead the economic policy plank for the Democrats' "Project 2029" effort at the Center for American Progress. He signed off on a housing policy paper CAP was prepping for next week.

My first cell phone in '99/'00 had decent call quality but I've complained about cell phones being crap on ACTUAL call quality for the last 20 years.

In a world where people are buried in their screens, dread phone calls, and the social contract is broken, maybe landlines were good, actually?
AT&T’s failed effort this year to retire copper landlines in parts of California seemed to have support from a diverse grassroots coalition. But many of the members had ties with the telecom giant, CalMatters found. bit.ly/49nQDVn

Venn diagram of CEOs and the shitty grammer that's clearly on display via the Epstein emails explains that the best any of these chuckleheads come up with is "writing emails for you."

With today's news, as anti-AI as I am, yes, it does seem like an AI can write YOUR emails better than you can.

Wait a fucking minute! Are you telling me that Larry Summers is implicated too?!

Where is that meme "if he has no haters on this earth, I must be dead" when you need it?
Larry Summers had an "insight" in an email to Epstein.

the only thing democrats should be saying today is “the entire republican party is engaged in a coverup of the most notorious child sex trafficking ring in world history”

Whenever some sanctimonious Dem announces that America needs a functioning Republican Party, I always think “I’d settle for a functioning Democratic Party.”

The *only* endorsements I pay any attention to are WFP. (Which incidentally was what I used to help my mom narrow her primary choices for NYC mayor!)
If you’ve been looking for an alternative to funding establishment Dems who are cowards at the end of the day, please look into WFP. This grassroots party has done a significant amount of work over the years to elect progressives and make real change.
That’s why we’ll be working to unseat both Republicans as well as corporate Democrats who have kowtowed to the Trump agenda and replace them with Working Families Party champions who will fight to lower the cost of living and guarantee health care for every family.

Let's also remember that Gavin Newsom vetoed single payer in California, so there are people in all levels of leadership who are absolutely dogshit and should never be elected again.
My friends who work in government have gone into debt to protect people's healthcare, they are being fucking betrayed by wealthy Senators who never stopped getting paid.

if you genuinely think Schumer and Democratic leadership opposed this & Republicans coincidentally got exactly the number of votes they needed to avoid a filibuster and none of those votes are from Democratic Senators who are up for reelection in the midterms next year, I have a bridge to sell you.

Unless Democratic Senators who voted no on the #Schumersurrender today explicitly call for Schumer to resign or step aside - they all own this cave. Just pushing out performative posts and press releases don’t count for much anymore. Enough.
Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

Not a single senate Democrat should be politically safe from this day forward. Not one
Blame *all* Democratic incumbents for this surrender. Not just the ones voting for it. The others could have voted to remove Schumer long ago and install a leader capable of formulating a strategy and holding his people together. They were content to stay with a proven loser.
I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.

We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.

A vote for this bill is a mistake.

people are still furious about the 2008 bailout and that was almost two decades ago

AI companies should go under and financially wipe out VCs. exec's should go to prison for putting systems into the world that were instrumental in numerous suicides without any consideration for those risks. there should be consequences for experimenting on the public on roads and in social settings
