1st, a majority of these degrees are held by women. 2nd, most of these degrees are "Required Reporters," professions legally obligated to report suspicions of child abuse.

Private planes make up nearly 12% of all flights.

And yet even with major air traffic control safety concerns, the DOT is planning to exclude them from its plan to order 10% cut in flights at 40 major U.S. airports.

People who can afford to charter flights will be fine. Everyone else is screwed.

WOW. Remember this May video of a US citizen wrestled to the ground by ICE agents and detained for an hour despite having a valid REAL ID?

It gets worse. Two weeks later, ICE did it AGAIN — handcuffed him and detained him for 20 minutes despite his REAL ID. Now the Institute for Justice is suing.

On September 3, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia entered a preliminary injunction directing the Executive to obligate roughly $10.5 billion of appropriated aid funding set to expire on September 30. Of that $10.5 billion, $4 billion was proposed to be rescinded in a “special message” transmitted pursuant to the Impoundment Control Act. See 2 U. S. C. §681 et seq. After the District Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit denied stays of that order, the Government filed this application to stay the District Court’s injunction. The application for stay presented to THE CHIEF JUSTICE and by him referred to the Court is granted. The Government, at this early stage, has made a sufficient showing that the Impoundment Control Act precludes respondents’ suit, brought pursuant to the Administrative Procedure Act, to enforce the appropriations at issue here. The Government has also made a sufficient showing that mandamus relief is unavailable to respondents. And, on the record before the Court, the asserted harms to the Executive’s conduct of foreign affairs appear to outweigh the potential harm faced by respondents. This order should not be read as a final determination on the merits. The relief granted by the Court today reflects our preliminary view, consistent with the standards for interim relief.

In 2020, the LAPD met with AG Barr to discuss the protests in LA. A major chuck of the presentation was about Antifa's presence at the protests. The FBI evaluated 500 arrests and found none of them had ties to any Antifa "extremist" groups. Slides below, obtained FOIA, highlight the convo:

Los Angeles Anti-Fascist Bloc (LAAFB) . Youth Liberation Front (YLF) . Autonomous Anarchist Revolutionary Front (AARF) . Los Angeles Anarchist Youth Network (LAAYN) Recent protests have been advertised by local Antifa groups and a review of videos indicates that persons attending these protests are participating in criminal behaviors consistent with Antifa tactics: July 25, 2020 - During the "Support the Solidarity of Portland Area" protest, vandalisms and assaults on police officers were reported in front of the First Street U.S. Courthouse, followed by a vandalism of the Police Officers' Memorial at Police Headquarters, and a vandalism at the Federal Detention Center at 535 North Alameda Street. One unidentified suspect was viewed on video at all three locations participating in criminal acts and recognized on video the following day on July 26, 2020, at another Antifa related protest in West Los Angeles. August 13, 2020 -A group of protestors assembled in the downtown area of Los Angeles near the Kenneth Hahn Hall Administration building. Six persons were observed pulling on red bands around the neck of a George Washington statue in Grand Park, attempting to remove it from its platform. The statute toppled to the ground and was further vandalized by the group. The six protestors were apprehended and arrested for 594 PC, Vandalism. Further review of video also identified one arrestee participating in another Antifa protest on July 26, 2020, in West Los Angeles. Boogaloo Movement: found no evidence of the far-right extremist group, the Boogaloo Movement, participating in any Los Angeles area protests. National intelligence on the Boogaloo Movement has found their participation in several major cities during protests but have not been identified as being present in the Los Angeles region. They have no relationship with any Antifa groups.

When we think of sexism, it's easy to think of *active* efforts to discriminate against women. But sexism also operates *passively* - like through our inaction on issues like childcare and paid family leave. In that context, return-to-office policies are sexist in consequence, even if not in design.
