A reporter asked Cary's Mayor how he handles conflicts of interest, and he responded by saying the question was "insulting."

If you've never menstruated, then chances are that you don't fully understand the value of free tampons to people who need them.

No one has ever schlepped around tampons. Yes, 5600 tampons is a large quantity, but they're small & light weight.

JFC, some people don't know when to be quiet.
Turning campaigns into mutual aid hubs isn’t good for campaigns or mutual aid! Your campaign manager should be entirely too busy to schlep around 5600 tampons!

Hoping an #ncpol reporter looks into this conflict of interest regarding Dave Boliek overseeing the State Board of Elections:
OSA absolutely cannot audit the elections boards given that they oversee that. That’s the highest level conflict of interest/independence impairment. It’s absurd that Boliek can claim that he might still be able to do it. But his office is regularly violating auditing standards.

9/ Officials, including director Sam Hayes and the state auditor Dave Boliek, told ProPublica they were focused on running fair and nonpartisan elections.

Boliek said the board was dedicated to making “it easy to vote and hard to cheat in North Carolina.”

“It turns out that banishing the slur from public discourse was, in fact, important. Because now it’s back and it turns out that it does matter when subtext becomes actual text, when terrible people enable open hatred and bigotry, encouraging others to emulate them, degrading us all.”
Perry: The return of the r-word
"These days, the r-word slur has become a staple of the American right wing, uttered with few professional or social consequences," David M. Perry writes.

"The North Carolina GOP’s effort to rein in executive power at the state level stands in sharp contrast to the Trump administration’s efforts to expand such power federally."
