SEATTLE CURE YOUR VOTES PLEASE
SEATTLE!!!

We’ve now taken the lead by 91 votes! 🤯 This thing is certainly not over! Over 1,000 ballots have been challenged, so if you haven’t tracked your ballot yet get on it! Our trusty volunteers have been working hard to "cure" ballots so they count! We're so close!

This is a bad deal, and the old way of doing things is clearly not working.

We need new leaders in the Senate.

“but why should for-profit healthcare execs be prosecuted for murder?”

i’m glad you asked! it’s because every healthcare exec socially murders innocent people to increase their rate of profit!
“Social murder” is a term created by Friedrich Engels to describe the premature death of marginalized people due to political, social, or economic oppression.

What is happening right now in America is the premeditated, calculated, & planned extermination of children who are trans. This is genocide.
there was a new study published *today* in Nature showing that state-level anti-trans laws increase suicide among trans kids up to 72%.

when we say that the New York Times (and other rags of equal repute) is killing us, that's because *IT IS LITERALLY KILLING US*

Hemp is defined as <0.3% delta-9 THC in dry weight. The minibus adds a ban on “any intermediate hemp-derived cannabinoid products which are marketed or sold as a final product or directly to an end consumer for personal or household use,” and sets a limit of 0.4 mg THC per container.
The shutdown deal includes a ban on hemp products that none of its negotiators debated in public.

Disappointing that only 24 senators voted against killing an amendment to strike that ban.

The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

UPDATE: The Senate votes 53-47 to shoot down the Baldwin amendment to extend ACA funds for 1 year. A party-line vote with every Republican rejecting it.
An important vote in this series: Tammy Baldwin’s proposal to extend ACA expiring funds for 1 year. It’s structured as a motion to table (i.e. scrap it from the amendment tree). But it’ll show the appetite (or lack thereof) in the Senate to address this issue.

Eight months ago, Katie Wilson declared her intention to run and all the conventional powers-that-be said she didn't stand a chance of winning.

Remember that we don't always know what is possible.
Wilson now leads in the Seattle mayoral race by 91 votes. Prior to today, Harrell had been leading by 4,300 votes, but this latest vote batch netted Wilson 4,391 votes.

I want to say a huge thank you to Dr Harris, who has been a true beacon of integrity during this incredibly depressing & damaging time of Stanford-MAHA-anti-vaxx-Great Barrington Declaration anti-science kookiness
I spoke to CNN about how demoralizing it was to watch Stanford leadership stay silent while contrarians on campus launched unscientific attacks to stifle Stanford researchers. Now, those attacks have gone nationwide and much of MAHA leadership have ties to Stanford.

Yeah, in Jamaica, people build pergolas with solar instead of wood and the price is not all that different.
Solar’s price drop is astonishing: panels are now 98% cheaper than when I first analyzed them in 2004.

Today, building a fence with solar can be cheaper than using wood.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

Assume all the yes and no votes from Dem senators are strategic and not sincere votes. The party caucus made a decision. No way to know how many were in favor. Then the caucus decided who would vote yes and no based on what would protect each of them politically the most. That’s how this works.
