One problem of the “ Black people now isn’t the time to sit out”
Is almost no one who says that shit when pressed can actually say Black people are sitting out

My main issues are with mainstream social media platforms, not the internet. The internet can get vital information and community to people who are isolated and oppressed. It can give them a platform and voice they wouldn’t have otherwise. Mainstream social media has become an enemy to that purpose.

The fact that media outlets think it's more important to "preserve access" to Trump photo ops and press conferences than it is to fight for the First Amendment rights of a free press really says it all.
Complicating matters further, "everyone assumes they're next" – meaning leaders of other news outlets expect their White House reporters will face retribution too. Some of those leaders want to preserve access for as long as possible...

People literally died from Covid while claiming it doesn’t exist. There is never going to be a wake up call for some people. A lot of people. It’s not about convincing them if they can’t be convinced. IMO it’s about overwhelming them entirely with opposition.

Different environments. EU politicians have to answer to the people, so those kinds of protests work very well. US politics is all money, so strategic and sustained boycotts are more effective, but most people don't participate, and the right is typically more united and persistent than the left.
