Queer disabled quilter. She/her. Free Palestine.

Neurodivergent? Queer? Joint pain? Go and read up on Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Yes, even if you're not all that flexible these days. Even if it's not you, it's probably some of your friends.
How not to do alt text:

1. Use fake alt text, in this case the post text repeated, so that unless someone checks, you appear to be respecting disabled folk.

2. Say you'll use AI if called out.

I tried to explain why that's not best practice, but apparently they have baking to do.

British Quakers are refusing room bookings from terfs as policy.
If you were waiting for an org to stand up for LGBTQIA+ rights, and unflinchingly withstand bullying and lawfare, here you go, friends.
Good luck to the raging bigots, they'll get nowhere with threats.

Is anyone else finding that the Pfizer covid vaccine is hitting them like a ton of bricks? We took 50mg diphenhydramine before as per @rahaeli.bsky.social's protocol. Both very conked out afterwards, had a good long sleep, and R is still dizzy today. He always gets more arm pain from them than I do.

Latest baby quilt, which @robinjohnson.bsky.social has just delivered to his childhood best friend Tom for his new daughter.

Strong influence from Welsh quilting and Gwen Marston here. The bold colours and quirkiness suit the family it's gone to. I love matching the quilt style to the recipient!

Local and local-ish people who could get pregnant: Would you be interested in attending a short, free session on how to get, and help other Texans get, access to safe, legal abortion at home?

The 401c3 that I work with, I'll Have What She's Having, puts on these clinics. I'd love to host one.

Hello friends, I recently lost my health insurance + benefits & am currently looking at a bill of over $16,000 for which I cannot pay. This would not necessarily be an issue if I were not visually impaired and currently out of full time work, but I am humbly asking for assistance now. Any bit helps.

Any UK pharmacist can prescribe for a variety of things under the Minor Ailment Scheme, and it's free if your prescriptions are free.

If you're in doubt, say due to odd symptoms or having had a lot of UTIs recently, insist the GP surgery runs a urine test. That's how we found out I'm T1 diabetic.
this is potentially TMI but also *v useful information* so: did you know that (in the UK) if you start to feel you're getting a UTI on Saturday evening you can do an online form with eg Boots and be picking up your antibiotics by 10am on Sunday morning? and then start to feel better by 11am?

Tonight I speedily made a very nice stir-fry, injected insulin whole my partner served it up, and then registered that the sauce I'd covered it with was off. Sigh. Thankfully he dug out microwaveable rice and lentils, and I had four prunes to make up the carb difference while they were nuking. #T1D

This woman also told us she was deaf and would often talk about preferring to turn off her cochlear implant. I once asked her whether she was Deaf or deaf, and she said, "I guess both, it doesn't really matter."

Do D/deaf people tend to say this? I always got the impression it was really important.
She's targeted numerous other people, been thrown out of a pregnancy server, and other folks had been suspicious about the story not adding up.

Since the options had been

A) My friend is paralysed,
B) My friend is dead, or
C) This person is not my friend and is lying,

it's the least worst one.

Turns out I've been hastily sewing a baby quilt for a baby who probably does not exist. A young woman I made friends with in a diabetes group had been having a hard time, and the crises just kept rolling. I became suspicious a while ago, but it's such a horrible thing to accuse someone of.

Either you understand that there is an organized campaign to push trans people out of public life with the explicit end goal of "morally mandating us out of existence" that is backed by some of the wealthiest individuals to have ever lived, or you're simply not equipped to grasp what's happening.

My partner has an app for tracking my blood glucose in case he needs to dive home and literally save my life, but only 0.2% of the population are type 1 diabetics, and it was my idea.

From what I've seen of parents of young diabetics online, they can be prone to hovering too much.
