Queer disabled quilter. She/her. Free Palestine.

Neurodivergent? Queer? Joint pain? Go and read up on Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Yes, even if you're not all that flexible these days. Even if it's not you, it's probably some of your friends.
Calling embroiderers! Which stitch would be nice for putting the baby's name on the front of this baby quilt? It needs to be sturdy so it'll survive machine washing. Normally I do chain stitch, but I'm wondering about other options. Twisted chain stitch? I'm not much of an embroiderer.

I have a rather discombobulated cat today. She's always rather anxious and very shouty when she's had her occasional appetite stimulant.

Never fear, she is getting loads of cuddles and reassurance, and is keeping me busy throwing dental kibble up her climbing wall.

I would just like to say that Robin got me to watch Bride of Frankenstein, and while it was great fun, your Percy was better.

Also I was not prepared for how much the Polidoricule (minus Polidori) was simply the Pals.

Good morning, here is a snail.
November 19, 2025 at 11:22 AM
We started walking the cat a few months ago, and immediately realised that it brings her appetite back. She's 16 with chronic kidney disease, so that's a necessity, and we rarely skip a walk due to Weather.

It's amazing the difference it makes to the mood and energy of the humans as well.

I originally bought one for Ninj back in my first year as a cat minion. Something was wrong with how it was made, so I sneakily drew around it before I sent it back, and used that to make my own pattern.

This rainbow one is longer, and made from fleece, batting and flannel, so it's a lot warmer.

Apparently somebody - I name no names, but somebody with four paws and a tail - chased a squirrel up a tree during her walk with @robinjohnson.bsky.social today! She yowled menacingly at it for a while, then bounded off after another squirrel. Not bad for sixteen!

Good afternoon, here is a loooong cat.

With full alt text this time.

Also to anyone making "hot priest" jokes, please stop sexualising an assault victim. Wtaf.

Her new harness shows up against any background, I'm delighted to discover! My partner has been carefully documenting this.

The world is a bit much right now. Here is a happy little cat being taken for a walk in a local park, and insisting my partner takes her into the labyrinth.

Photos by @robinjohnson.bsky.social, harness made by me.

Morning! My cat is cute.

Have a cute kitty for courage.

I'm not going to be well enough to go on walks for probably a few months while I'm recovering post-covid, so @robinjohnson.bsky.social sends me lovely photos when he's out walking the cat.

It helps me feel more connected to outside, and gives me hope. I haven't left my flat in nearly four weeks.

If it's the uni, I'm right by George Square. There's a lovely garden in there where we walk the cat. It's got a little labyrinth!

The cobbling in George Square can be a bit hazardous, mind.

Hmm, it's by @obrackenbury.bsky.social. The rest of his images have proper alt text, I had a quick look at his account. Has he apologised, or just deleted this post and pretended it didn't happen?

Remember, people, if you don't have the energy to write alt text, then ask for help, or don't post.

It went back to completely negative the next day.

We tested me again tonight. I'm still symptomatic (runny nose), and my test is also showing a single raised channel.

Someone on Reddit just said that if he had a faint positive, then that means he's had it and can't catch it from me.

IS THIS TRUE?

People who know about covid!

I caught covid from the mobile vet thirteen days ago. I tested positive on Pluslife three days later. Robin tested negative, so went to stay at his flat.

A few days later, he had a faint positive, one channel raised. It has to be two channels for an official positive.

Lunch is cooking, and prunes are at the ready in case I drop into the 4s! Actually this is being dramatic, it's at 7.4 now and holding steady. But it amused me.

I do have proper glucose tablets if needed for a real low, don't worry.
October 25, 2025 at 11:50 AM
Ahaha, I went "right then" and corrected with 2.5u, then took my phone and hypo sweeties into the shower just in case. Nope, I've gone up to 14.9.

Incidentally, they still haven't trained my partner in how to use glucagon.

Hah, I think I literally say "ooh!" and that's it. I auditioned for Mina but got all anxious about it and chickened out.

Ninja stars the most in The Tale of the Hellraiser, where she plays Edgar Allan Poe's cat, Catterina.

It's amazing how quiet cats go when you want them to miaow for a recording.
October 23, 2025 at 6:02 PM
Ninja took up knocking glasses of water off tables at the age of fifteen. This year, at sixteen, she is cautiously starting to purr. Audibly! You can hear her from, like, several feet away!
October 23, 2025 at 5:30 PM
Pet photos to cheer me up while I've got covid, please! @robinjohnson.bsky.social has mercifully escaped infection so far, so he's at his flat with the cat, and I am missing them both dreadfully. He is of course sending me regular photos, and the odd video of her disporting herself in the catnip.
October 20, 2025 at 12:13 PM
We are discussing whether Ninja will ritually ignore me when she gets me back. Robin reckons she'll do this while sitting on me, pointedly facing away.

Here's a video of her enjoying her latest walk with him. I'm going to miss joining those walks when I'm in post-covid potato mode for a few months.
October 18, 2025 at 8:51 AM
Best of luck tomorrow, sweetheart. Here is Ninja, who is sixteen years old and has recently taken up purring, mounting a full frontal assault on the catnip in a local park.
