Bearing in mind that there were ~750 MILLION people worldwide who lacked electricity in 2023 - no light or heat without smoke, no a/c in summer, no stove, no kettle, never fuckin mind internet access for education - this seems a particularly egregious, assholish piece of waste.
"At current growth rates, some new AI servers could soon gobble up more than 85 terawatt hours of electricity each year, researchers have estimated — more than some small nations’ annual energy consumption."
Before you use that chatbot prompt, you should be aware that these generative AI companies are using so much power that they're trying to get more power plants built.

I've said this before, will say it again:

The CEO of this place got her career started in the technofascist crypto space, so the idea that she was some leftist progressive stalwart has always been a bunch of horseshit.

She is literally -one- of them and always has been.

I think it's a lot easier to think of #nuclear as "clean energy" if you are willing to ignore the people who mined the fuel, the communities they live in, and what happens after the mines close.

Turns out there are a lot of Native Americans in those two categories.

Keep coming back to Summers’ annoyance that this female mentee he’s trying to sleep with “takes her presentation very seriously.” To men like this—to a lot of men—women’s intellectual or professional ambition is an irritating presumption that they condescend to tolerate.
The emails have Summers reporting to Epstein about his attempts to date a Harvard economics student & to hit on her during a seminar she was giving.

I helped make a film, out this week, called “Rovina’s Choice,” about the deaths this man without conscience or accountability has caused — already 600,000, ⅔ of them children.
