People put labels on others to understand them better or categorise them but humans are too complex, in my opinion. I don’t like labels. For example I am not a #leftist, #rightist or #centrist. I support ideas from all these #ideologies but no, I don’t lean towards any. I am just me. Nita.
For me, comfort is about feeling energised, warm, bubbling with happiness. Tones of red and even certain hues of yellow make me feel that way. Maybe that’s why our house decor is dominated by these colours. Feeling excited, ready to go…. wish I could feel like that every day…

The US is sanctioning Iran bc of the protests which’ll increase discontent-a push towards regime change. China is rattled, perhaps in denial. Its investments in Venezuela already set to suffer & if US controls Iran as well-it’s a body blow. Exactly what the US wants.

Chinese commentary on Iran protests — serious but not regime-threatening
The views of analysts reflect a wider Chinese tendency to emphasise regime resilience and caution against overstating the impact of what they are calling as ‘street mobilisation’.

Three powers today are boldly and unashamedly expansionist in nature - United States, Russia and China. They either want to grab land that doesn’t belong to them or they want to dominate, manipulate and control other countries.

I grew up in an era where #socialism was considered a scourge and deregulation & privatisation was the cure-all for poverty. It certainly helped India become more prosperous but the scourge of extreme #capitalism is showing to be just as bad…no, worse.

Is #Iran on the brink of collapse? Today is the 10th of protests. The ill-treatment of Iranian women didn’t make the country rise up together, certainly not in great numbers, not enough to make it count…but maybe its floundering economy might. Inflation is at 42%, with food inflation > 70%.

Invading oil-rich countries and kidnapping presidents is not enough to grab their oil. The US #oil industry will have to invest tens of billions of dollars to get things running. Apparently, the industry is not exactly jumping with joy at the prospect.

It’s strange that Venezuela is not trending here on Bluesky. One country has attacked another and kidnapped its president -it’s big news. The attack wasn’t even subtle like the insidious manner in which the US toppled the Bangladesh regime during Biden’s time.
