Big news: the #RhodeIsland Energy Facilities Siting Board approved the 1200 MW SouthCoast Wind #offshorewind project.

SCW will be the 3rd OSW project to sell (some) power to RI utilities when the contract is finalized.

The thing about the "I voted against this" position Schumer is taking is that either he is trying to mislead Dem voters by implying he didn't support reopening right now, or he has no control over his caucus.

So many of the takes on the #pasta #tariffs betray a lack of understanding about anti-dumping duties.

Friends: Trump doesn't personally run anti-dumping or countervailing duty (AD/CVD) cases, or set the duty rates. US AD/CVD practice was bat-shit crazy *before he ever took office.*

I mean Q Cell is one of the companies pushing for the aggressive tariffs and import attacks and all kinds of shit.

Leopard Party member surprised by the leopard eating them…
This sucks for these thousand #solar workers and their families.

As for QCells' leadership...

1) According to Customs data, they are getting nothing released under UFLPA.

2) They are participants in weaponizing trade policy to be part of an oligopoly. No tears. /1

If we are talking about leadership of the Democratic Party, then it is the first and the third.

Wondering how much of those who answered #2 are on a steady diet of reality-warping right-wing propaganda.

There are consequences to trade policies that slow #cleanenergy deployment. Like deaths.

There is a bogus but persistent argument that we don't have enough space for #solar and #wind.

What that argument misses is that solar can usually be deployed *in the same footprint* as other uses, like parking lots. Just as wind can be deployed in farms & forests. /1

New national law will turn large parking lots into solar power farms
Starting this month, parking lots in South Korea with more than 80 spaces will be required to install solar canopies and carports.

Now every American family who eats pasta gets to find out how our anti-dumping laws allow American companies to shut our foreign competition, create oligopolies, and wildly distort markets to their benefit.

Welcome to the reality that the #solar industry has been living for 13 years.

The deranged Nazi werewolf likes to flatter himself.

The list of those who we need to put on trial when this is all over for crimes against humanity starts with Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, Todd Lyons, Greg Bovino, et al. Bannon doesn't even make the first page of this list.

Notable that much of the news about Nancy Pelosi retiring from Congress doesn't lead with the obvious toll that having her husband beaten *with a hammer* must take on her.

I don't see right-wing violence driving liberal politicians out of office as an accidental by-product, but rather their aim.1

Last Saturday, at 3:45 PM, #wind output on the ISO-New England grid hit a new record at 1.58 GW. This is after successively posting new records of 1.4 GW and 1.52 GW in October (16th & 31st).

The main driver here is undoubtedly more of the Vineyard Wind #offshorewind plant coming online. /1

Analyses suggest that offshore wind could lower overall energy costs for ratepayers by displacing more expensive fossil fuel power plants. New England's power grid also relies on offshore wind developments to meet rising energy demands.

This is why I donate to individual Democratic candidates, but never to @electdemocrats.bsky.social. The reactionary centrism from the leadership of the Democratic Party - including @schumer.senate.gov - is nothing but sabotage masquerading as pragmatism.
This to me is the game. I don’t care if Schumer doesn’t like Mamdani, but for him to stand silently by while sex pest Cuomo leans into gutter racism and Islamophobia while accepting endorsements from Trump, Musk and Miller is outrageous from the Senate Minority Leader.
Schumer had a chance to repudiate the gutter racism and Islamophobia of Cuomo's campaign and he just fucking didn't. And that is disqualifying. He should be ashamed and we the voters should make sure he feels that shame.

Not surprised true mensch @sanders.senate.gov supports eliminating the red tape and bureaucracy that makes it needlessly hard to build things we need: housing, clean energy, healthcare facilities, etc.

He calls it "good governance." I don't care what you call it, but I call it #YIMBY. /1
the two main online opinions on Bernie re: Abundance are like “the left has bent the knee to us” vs. “Sanders dismisses it platitudes”, which I think are both wrong and annoying, whereas my read is “these are necessary but not sufficient”, which IMO is the standard, non-gas-leak left-YIMBY view

.@billgates.bsky.social was wrong about #energy, and he's now wrong about the #climatecrisis and #globalhealth. He's a billionaire software salesman, and like so many tech #billionaires, he is under the delusion that he is a polymath with a superior assessment of the world's problems. He isn't.
If @billgates.bsky.social were to read #ScienceUnderSiege by @peterhotezmdphd.bsky.social & myself, he would know that climate change is amplifying deadly pandemics. Only someone ignorant of the science adopts the fallacy that we can treat global health and the climate crisis as separate threats

McKee may talk a good game, but @peterneronha.bsky.social the tip of the spear when it comes to #RhodeIsland 's resistance to the Trump Regime.
Reminder to Governor and all:

Our SNAP lawsuit seeks an immediate temporary restraining order to require the SNAP funds to flow. If we achieve that - and I believe we will - this emergency will be over before it starts.
Governor McKee declares emergency, outlines plan as 145,000 Rhode Islanders face food stamps cutoff
