COVID myths are foundational to modern fascism.

Stuff like the lab leak BS or the idea that we “overreacted” to the pandemic, or the claim that dissent was “censored” by the “biomedical security state,” are narrative pillars holding up the fascists’ bizarro, contradictory worldview.

Understand?

Important to understand the Epstein stuff and the fascism and the corruption are, in a lot of ways, really all the same story from different angles: powerful men who can and do abuse vulnerable people around them because they can, and because systems of elite accountability catastrophically failed

Nothing illustrates the arseholery of the IOC and the British Press more than the use of the image of a not-Trans woman to illustrate a story about trans women being banned (because there are no current trans women competing at this level)

This move is based on pseudoscientific nonsense. Just ftr.
The International Olympic Committee is set to ban trans and intersex women from competition. This is despite the fact that for 20 years, the IOC has allowed trans athletes to compete and only 1 has ever competed and none have ever won a medal.

I can’t be the only one who just straight up isn’t interested in incorporating anything we learn from synthetic “social” science experiments conducted on LLM facsimiles of human text because I simply don’t think the epistemology of it has any bearing on the world, regardless of any similarity
LLMs are now widely used in social science as stand-ins for humans—assuming they can produce realistic, human-like text

But... can they? We don’t actually know.

In our new study, we develop a Computational Turing Test.

And our findings are striking:
LLMs may be far less human-like than we think.🧵
Computational Turing Test Reveals Systematic Differences Between Human and AI Language
Large language models (LLMs) are increasingly used in the social sciences to simulate human behavior, based on the assumption that they can generate realistic, human-like text. Yet this assumption rem...

this story is horrifying and universities NEED to accept that ChatGPT is actively harmful
1.This is not the only known example we know of ChatGPT cheering on a vulnerable young person to die by suicide, this time it is a recent Texas A&M grad
2. Every single university that has invited OpenAI into our midst should be asked to account for their choices.

This assumes people on the right dislike the ideas but actually they identify as people who believe the opposite of Dems and will oppose any Dem platform. The details are irrelevant
Here with yellow checkmarks we have five examples of real things that Gavin Newsom and leading California Democrats espouse. Not a straw man.

My take is Democrats should drop these ideas, ideas that do not sound at all like economic populism to me.

When a chatbot gets something wrong, it’s not because it made an error. It’s because on that roll of the dice, it happened to string together a group of words that, when read by a human, represents something false. But it was working entirely as designed. It was supposed to make a sentence & it did.

“When you start asking if it’s worth standing up for trans people, you’ve already lost the moral argument,” Democrat Dylan Blaha told me in an interview about why he’s challenging an Illinois congresswoman from the left.

Illinois Army captain says Dems are ‘rolling over’ on LGBTQ+ rights. He’s running for Congress to change that
“What’s happening right now to trans people — to the LGBTQ+ community — is not okay. Somebody needs to stand up," Dylan Blaha told The Advocate.

I don’t understand why anyone’s debating this — a Nazi tattoo is a non starter, full stop.

This is a race for a U.S. Senate seat. The bar for candidates to clear doesn’t have to be insanely high, but it should at least be off the ground

The Argentina bailout probably won't get Argentina's economy on sound footing, but it will help one well-connected American billionaire avoid losing big on Argentinian debt.
In that way, it's like the Silicon Valley Bank bailout. Rich guys make a big bet, it goes bad, US taxpayers' cover the losses.
