#ActuallyAutistic. White cishet femme (she/her) but doing my best to center more marginalized perspectives. Disabled is not a dirty word. Use AltText or ask others to write it for you.

Ableism is not welcome in my feed.

No eugenics.

No ableist slurs and ESPECIALLY no defending them with "well they're an awful person so it's okay to use a bigoted slur about them."

No images without alt text or a request for someone to write it.

My feminism is intersectional or it's bullshit.

WE WON. I am *begging* you to take note of who did this. *Not* UCLA admin—they’re still scuttling around behind closed doors, attempting to appease—but FACULTY AND STAFF, led by AAUP.
BREAKING: In AAUP et al v. Trump (wall-to-wall union lawsuit challenging the administration’s unlawful use of TItle VI to reshape the University of California system), the faculty and staff of the UC system WON!!!

We were granted our preliminary injunction! @aaup.org

This is a 19-paragraph article to which 7 journalists contributed; it contains not a single hint that there is any impropriety in the President of the United States directing the Justice Department to investigate his political adversaries.

Something I really want to capture in my writing is how there is a disconnect between how many historians use the term "eugenics" and how disabled activists use "eugenics," yet disabled activists aren't just using it as a scare word or a synonym for ableism.

I wasn't even going to share this, but one of my FB friends shared it, one of her friends had trouble copying it from her feed, and so I tried it and successfully copied it. Which obligates me to share it.

Three years ago, my New Year's resolution was to donate to more strike funds. That one stuck.
The union is asking that you not patronize any Starbucks, even ones that aren't unionized, for the duration! Time to find your new favoriteocal coffee shop. To donate to their strike fund: sbworkersunited.org

This just keeps happening that when a wealth tax is introduced, 1, the rich don't actually move out and 2, they are hoarding more wealth than people know. Tax the rich.

This stuff is so crazy. Trump is now just letting his allies that helped him nearly overthrow the government take turns stealing taxpayer money.

Playing us all for suckers. The corruption of this regime will leave an indelible mark on our nation. 🇺🇸 www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

WTF! Cruelty is the point.
In no specific order, here are all the issues with this requirement that come to mind in like 2 minutes before my break ends:

1. Requiring all recipients to reapply will need to happen over time not all at once to have a chance at not crushing state office's. Watch closely how it plays out

1/?
Trump administration will require SNAP participants to reapply for benefits
The move is part of USDA chief Brooke Rollins’ effort to overhaul the nation’s largest anti-hunger program and get rid of “fraud.”

When Massachusetts passed a "millionaires tax" in 2023, conservatives claimed the rich would flee.

But two years later, they haven't — and MA has collected $5.7B for infrastructure and public education.

A reminder that positive change can still happen at the state level.

I have read - from people who believe in their own seriousness - that the Traitor 8's capitulation was actually 7-dimensional chess, because once a bunch of people have their hospitals close and family members die, they'll see that they need to vote for Democrats from now on.
i don’t think people realize how straight up delusional a solid proportion of democratic senators are regarding our politics. i don’t mean that as hyperbole. they are actually untethered from reality
I think this helpfully confirms the notion that the end of the filibuster was a big motivator for the eight Dems.
