I don’t know who needs to hear this but Americans don’t want Greenland or Canada.

Americans would rather have social security and educational funding.

Animation is a caricature of life, not a lesser imitation of it. Remaking cartoons in live-action, or giving the characters realistic proportions, hairs, warts, etc., robs them of the stylized exaggeration that made them appealing in the first place.

last dec i, a former politico reporter who’s written more on trans issues for them than most of their staff, published this story in @rollingstone.com debunking the idea we even know that’s true
Will Democrats Let the GOP Gut Trans Health Care?
Donald Trump and Republicans may try to ban funding to companies that perform trans health care. Some fear Democrats won't stop them.

Abolish ICE is not an absurdity statement. ICE was created in 2003 as a response to 9/11 - we do not need it. We already established that following orders isn't an excuse.

The “methods for doing so” are (1) getting two thirds of Congress and three fourths of the states to repeal the 22nd Amendment and (2) declaring himself king.

That’s it.

Stop treating this despotic bullshit as if it’s some worthwhile thought experiment we have to consider as legitimate.
President Trump did not rule out the possibility of seeking a third term in the White House, which is prohibited by the Constitution under the 22nd Amendment, saying in an exclusive interview with NBC News that there were methods for doing so and clarifying that he was “not joking.”
Trump won’t rule out seeking a third term in the White House, tells NBC News ‘there are methods’ for doing so
President Donald Trump said in a Sunday-morning phone call that he was “not joking” about a third term, adding that “it is far too early to think about it.”

Democrats have completely failed to counter the narrative that immigrants are bad, choosing instead to go along with the Trump administration. Unsurprisingly, most Americans now support the Trump administration.

Two points on this.

the entire political project of the american right is to create a hierarchy with protected in-groups and punished out-groups. there is no moral nor political upside in meeting them half way on any of those out-groups. the only people in a bubble are those who deny that hierarchy is their agenda

We're not ready for how eye-gougingly boring art is going to be under fascism.

Like Disney removing the context of Lilo taking photos of white tourists in order to remove the critiques of colonialism sucks all the depth and humor out of the scene.

It's so boring.

The tactics ICE is using--thugs in plain clothes kidnapping people simply for their political views--these tactics were developed by the US and spread across the world to hunt down Leftists from Latin America to Indonesia. They've also been used locally for decades to terrorize Black communities.

If you think what happened to Rumeysa Ozturk can't happen to you because you're a citizen and she's not, you are sorely mistaken. Ozturk was snatched off the street not for being a national security threat but for having a wrong opinion. If we don't put a stop to this, it's coming for all of us.

I can't watch this and say nothing. The arrest of people lawfully here because of things they have said is nothing short of creating a new class of political prisoners.

Then sweeping them away to Louisiana to evade the rule of law is atrocious.

We cannot stay silent.

What’s important about the Massachusetts arrest when you watch the footage, only two people show badges. Those badges are NECKLACES.

Y’all, the cost of investment a bad actor can put into a daylight kidnapping is a $5 gaiter and $2 piece of metal from Amazon. This isn’t “identifying yourself.”
Worth remembering the lady at the town hall in Idaho too.

Men in masks, covered up, and they snatch the person next to you.

We must defend ourselves.
This is about to get extremely dangerous for everyone. If anyone can claim to be law enforcement to kidnap someone in broad daylight, then you can’t prove the people kidnapping you in plain clothes are law enforcement.

This is a two way street that increases violence and casualties on both sides.
