I hope things in our industry change for the better in the future. I will not allow anyone to feel this way again.
Sexism isn’t new in this industry, nor is it new to me, but during the last #DICE confernece, I experienced more sexism than I have in the 6 years I have been in games. Which says a lot because I was gamergated a few years ago. At DICE, I had men gawking at me, eyeing my body, licking their lips and snapping their neck to look at my behind. I was dismissed by several people, people assuming I am a student or someone’s assistant. I was not taken seriously or respected until someone vouched for me in conversation. This isn’t a new experience for most women in games, but I was painfully aware of it. Other women at the conference also were aware of men staring and eyeing me up, I confided in several people about how uncomfortable and uneasy it was making me. I have also had people try to make romantic and sexual advances towards me. I understand that is just part of the game industry culture for women but I am not interested in participating. I also don’t think that should be common practice. We are at a work event, please act accordinly and respect the women in this industry. This is my fourth DICE, and it will not be my last. I will not allow people in this industry to intimidate me from engaging with my peers and celebrating the people in this industry. I tell students and scholars all of the time to be careful and not allow anyone to harm you into silence. I figured it was time for me to take my own advice. I hope people see this and understand that this is an onging issue and something needs to change. I blame none of the organizers or anyone who works for DICE for any of this. They are all wonderful people and I see the work they do to make sure DICE is safe for everyone. The culture in our industry must change! I refuse to allow any one else to feel the way I felt at DICE.

Wuthering Heights is a dense story of two people's love turning cruel and then destroying all around them. Emerald Fennell made should have just made an AO3 account. Not to mention that she "can't imagine" Heathcliff as Black and the casted two actors of color as character she rewrote into villains.

The more I think about it the more I am bothered because they are marketing Wuthering Heights as "the greatest love story of all time" because they have mangled and flattened anything complex about that story to fit fanfic tik tok brain rot.

Also Emerald Fennell's rendition is absolutely racist in the way she casts her characters and the villains.
