Sure, they've made an environmentally catastrophic mass hallucination disinformation plagiarism Clippy that will destabilize the world, but also their other goal is to replace human workers entirely and let us humans starve. A boycott of AI is the most important boycott of your entire life.

my “AI is over” anecdote is that my wife was hired over the summer to write scripts for a big tech company explaining how to use their AI tools and after many rounds of revisions, the latest notes said “we’re finding a lot of AI fatigue among our users” and to remove all references to AI
Anecdotally on twitter seeing a big shift the last few days from every AI slop account saying every other creative field is “over” and they’re in control now to now posting about how nobody likes them and it’s not fair and they’ll persevere and real artists respect and uplift eachother

I would go as far as to say it’s actually an important trait to being a good artist, to have a firm sense of who and what you don’t like and what you don’t want to do.

One of my least favorite aspects of AI (and so far least mentioned) along with nearly everything else is the NANOSECOND an entertainment project is even rumored there are instantly fake AI slop posters that thousands of rubber brained dorks think are real and share across the webosphere.

This is why you NEVER EVER use a company provided anything for doing anything personal. I have a SCAD laptop and i wont even check my emails on it let alone pay stuff. Thats just common sense

Mastercard, Visa, Stripe + Paypal are further restricting what kinds of perfectly legal adult content you can buy through their processor (they cracked down on itchio and steam over the summer, not to mention Patreon a few years ago). We're tired of them acting like dictators instead of tools.
