feels like at some point if there are still books being written, the one about how all of these supposedly very savvy business leaders simply said “you’ve got a bag of magic beans? take my cow, please” when it was offered to them will be a particularly humiliating one
The exec that said "we thought it was farther along then it was" is absolutely the greatest issue right now. Not only is it not capable of doing any of these things on a broad scale, it will do them significantly worse than any employee. Going all in on something to boost stock value that fails.

i always feel vaguely gaslit when the gate agent at the airport begging people to gate-check their bags describe it as a “free service” they are offering and not something they desperately need people to do in order for the plane to take off on time. they should offer a reward!!!!

“sorry, white men are at a real disadvantage these days” is also a thing literary and hollywood agents tell their white male clients to make them feel better about their book/script not selling or then not getting a job during staffing season, and to deflect blame from themselves for the failure
longstanding theory on this is that people who know the applicant that they don't want to hire has racial resentment offer "wish i could've hired you, but they made me hire a black woman instead!" as a let-them-down-easy cope rather than admit to them that they just didn't want to hire them.

It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.
