It’s nerve wracking making a video of yourself and putting it out there, but I wanted to try making something out of all the random clips I took of the public bus system in Bangalore. Hope you enjoy! It was fun to make.

Why is SPD intimidating taco vendors
Taco Stand on Northgate was back open tonight. As I went we watch SPD go around in circles and turns on their sirens a few times. What is this? This seems very strange if they’re doing something wrong then talk to them. This felt like intimidation

The people doing this to other humans need to go to prison.
Her husband told her that detainees at Broadview had to get up at 5am to get in line for one bathroom. He often peed himself. One time he had to wait until 2pm to use the bathroom. You could only use the bathroom once a day. He said the agents would beat you if you used the bathroom on yourself.

Maybe Yarrow Point shouldn't exist as an independent city
Signs your municipal tax structure is fundamentally broken: the Town of Yarrow Point is asking residents to get their new iPhone delivered to their house instead of buying it in Bellevue so they get the sales tax revenue.

Someone at @sound-transit.bsky.social discovered a way to make an announcement play after the doors close. I’m sure this reminder will save countless people who don’t understand physics and inertia.

I'm going to say something potentially controversial, but it needs to be discussed here because it is already being discussed very intensely elsewhere:
If homelessness gets *visibly* worse under a new mayor, regardless of metrics stating otherwise, it will be *the* thing to crater their popularity.

The government doesn't even have photos of everyone, how is this supposed to work?
New: Videos show ICE/CBP agents are scanning peoples' faces on the street to verify citizenship. ICE has tool to instantly look up unprecedented number of databases with just a photo

ICE and CBP Agents Are Scanning Peoples’ Faces on the Street To Verify Citizenship
Videos on social media show officers from ICE and CBP using facial recognition technology on people in the field. One expert described the practice as “pure dystopian creep.”

Big tech companies are laying off employees not because AI is actually replacing them, but because they want to make it look like AI can replace employees so they can sell more AI to other companies. Really great article on AI and layoffs.

SCOOP: several days ago Zohran Mamdani was overheard saying he "needs" to eat dinner. An inside source confirmed he had eaten breakfast and lunch that day, giving him an estimated 2+ weeks without additional calories before he might have died from starvation

What gets me the most about Harrell trying to make a thing about Katie getting money from her parents is just a stunning lack of empathy on his part. There is a massive difference between "my parents pay for all of my stuff because investments" and "my parents kick me some money occasionally."

King County Metro’s GTFS RT data seems to be now propagating trip updates for trips that haven’t begun yet, based on the data from the previous trip in the block. This is really good.

Damning video on @joemallahan.bsky.social's instagram account. @bruceharrell.bsky.social's "experience" is what? Failing at his job? Creating a hostile workplace? Elevating a man into power who is now under investigation for rape?
No thanks.

It's really wild to be heading from work these days and say something like "oh damn they're literally tearing down the White House... welp better hurry up and get home for dinner"
The White House is asking people not to share pictures of the East Wing because it’s even worse today.

Zohran Mamdani is a trained performer who has an extremely disciplined and laser-focused ability to recite on-message talking points in response to any question, and yet voters overwhelming praise him as being especially "authentic" compared to other politicians. There's a lesson here!

we should charge these people property tax for the length of time that they’ve treated this public land as their private backyard.
coming to you live from the east mercer street end on lake washington, which despite showing as a park on my map layer, and as an un-owned right of way on king county parcel viewer, is very very private

Currently sitting on a train that’s been stopped at UW station for 5 minutes. The driver keeps playing the “we are experiencing an extended delay” announcement with no other info. Why can’t the train operators use the PA to give us an estimate of how long we will be here? @sound-transit.bsky.social

As far as I can tell, SDOT seemed to think this would be a fairly routine change, with the Mayor's Office caught completely off guard by the public pushback.
