“one seattle” has always been a funny thing for someone from the green area to say. i’m excited for our renter-majority city to be represented by a renter!
seattle's political geography is as wild as (and presumably at some level is reflective of) its physical geopraphy

omg he’s going to run for county council d2, isn’t he
Will u stay in politics? “Yes in a sense…we’re gonna take time in prayer and make some decisions. I haven’t excluded anything.” 😬

Nearly 1,100 days after safety advocates painted a guerrilla crosswalk at Harvard Ave E and E Olive Way (and SDOT washed it off), there is now a permanent crosswalk here.

folks how do we think the lake washington working families coalition would feel about reducing lanes on aurora avenue?
A group called "Lake Washington Working Families" is appealing a determination of non-significance for a planned Winco Foods grocery store at Aurora Ave N and N 137th Street due to "various environmental impacts"...despite the fact that the building had been home to a Sam's Club that closed in 2018.

shoutout to my local trolleybus route being like kinda full after only three stops! headed downtown on a weekday morning i’m counting twenty riders and it’s crazy to me that the neighborhood was without local transit service for multiple years after the old route 47 was suspended during covid

my luck of seeing the Sounder N Line from cool places continues! who can recognize this spot?

your boss who insists on return-to-office:
Council president Sara Nelson is attending remotely from her office a few feet away from council chambers; budget chair Dan Strauss, noting some technical problem with Zoom, says she's welcome to come out and join everyone else in person.

coming to you live from the east mercer street end on lake washington, which despite showing as a park on my map layer, and as an un-owned right of way on king county parcel viewer, is very very private

i made a little video about recent reporting by @typewriteralley.bsky.social on mayor harrell’s involvement in lake washington boulevard’s safety saga

i see so many of these “better bike lanes” barriers knocked out of place by drivers because sdot can’t find a way to anchor them to the ground
this bike lane has been blocked for two weeks. it has been reported many times by many people by the Find It Fix It app and by phone. I bet if it was a car lane @seattledot.bsky.social would have fixed it by now

this is textbook trump cadence lol
Here's what he said about his work ethic during his 12 years on city council and 4 as mayor: "Anyone that works around me knows that I outwork everybody. I'll work seven days a week, 12, 14, hours a day. My people that work with me, they are amazed with the energy I have."

none of these people know they’re about to get kicked off the train at the next stop. why is sound transit so bad at communicating service disruptions? they happen often enough they should be good at it 😭

i see no reason why the bus i’m on shouldn’t be using the shoulder to bypass all this traffic

tonight i just so happened to be pedaling on the elliot way bridge over the railroad downtown as a sounder train rolled out of the great northern tunnel

I made a cheatsheet to help you distinguish btwn Seattle ppl who love housing, ppl who love trees, ppl who love both, & ppl who love NEITHER.

If you find yourself accidentally falling for propaganda or getting confused about who is who, just refer here!
