I’m really glad she happens to also be a really good mayor, because how the hell can you possibly hope to beat this? 😂

It can’t be said enough, active military know it is their DUTY to refuse orders that violate the law.

Trump, who never served, ordering the murder of veterans who merely remind other soldiers of the oath they all took, shows how little regard he has for our service members.

Pretty sure they are completely aware that the city controls if there are bus lanes along transit routes.

Yes, the mayor absolutely does determine if our bus system is good.
The disingenuous whiners at the Seattle Times ed board actually suggested that Katie Wilson—mayor-elect and the founder of the Transit Riders Union (who used to do outreach at the bus stop on Third and Union)—doesn't know that the county, not the city, runs the buses. Cry harder, losers

What a disappointment. LA deserves better. As @goldy.horsesass.org said, the most humane, pragmatic, and progressive thing those of us in the free blue cities can do is build a shit ton of housing so that every American who wants to move here can.

Bass has shown she’s squarely against this goal.

at this point, Los Angeles is the most NIMBY city in the country.

I am not a socialist myself, but give me a socialist YIMBY like Zohran or Katie Wilson over a liberal NIMBY like Karen Bass any day of the week.

Members of the Pike Place Constituency! We need to show up and vote for a new PDA council rep that will keep the success of the pedestrianized Pike Place going.

So mark your calendars for December 16!

Good list. I’d also add pedestrianizing a bunch of Seattle streets for the World Cup. It might have to be quick with planters, with more permanent changes later.

Namely the areas around Occidental, along with 1st Ave, Ballard Ave, University Way, 4th and Pine, and 10th and Pike in Capitol Hill.
A batch of things Wilson can bring in her first year:

—paint bus only lanes
—end design review
—redesign Aurora & Rainier Ave
—take comp plan further
—pick a slew of new directors
— OPCD (planning)
— SDCI (permitting)
— SDOT (transportation)
Katie Wilson is leading in the Seattle mayor's race!

“I alone can fix it.”
PAC spending tried to tie Katie Wilson to Kshama Sawant during this campaign.

Meanwhile Sawant's Workers Strike Back org includes Wilson in the "two parties of Wall Street & War" when advertising an event this weekend, with Andrew Cuomo wedged in between her and Bruce Harrell.

Everyone who volunteered for Wilson, thank you for everything, and we need you one last time.

Be ready to cure ballots. This is gonna be close, and we need your energy for this last push.

Be looking out for instructions from the campaign.

November 3, 2025 at 6:15 AM
This is so true. If you’re here, you’d best be going through your contacts on your phone telling as many as you can that they need to vote and vote for Wilson.
Talking to a friend and campaign volunteer who described how she recently convinced friends to take their ballots out of the trash! If you’re reading this, you likely have already voted or have a plan to vote.

But you likely also have friends, family and neighbors who are NOT planning to vote.

I’m hoping Wilson is up on election night, but it’s very possible this election will be really close.

I know you didn’t work this hard to lose by a few hundred votes, so be prepared to help the campaign cure ballots. Curing is helping voters fix ballots that were improperly signed or dated.

If it was just as simple as “should they be allowed to camp there?”, and Harrell says no, why are they still there?
Not impressed with this ad.

Reminds me of Nancy Reagan’s “just say no” to drugs campaign. It’s an oversimplification of a complex problem, as if all we need to do is to “say no” to homelessness.

“‘They’re not necessarily angry at Harrell’”

No, I am angry at Harrell. He is a bad mayor.
I guess we’re at the point in the campaign where pundits and consultants make excuses as to why their candidate is losing. 🧵

Westneat points to Trump and his fawning billionaires:
The switch that flipped in Seattle politics
The sight of unimaginable Big Tech wealth at the gates of American democracy shook Seattle politics. The mayor, among others, may not survive the quake.

I want a mayor that leads with bikes and won’t get in the way of light rail and housing construction every chance he gets.

Is that seriously too idealistic?

Can we seriously liken that to a suicide bomber?
