Does any US jurisdiction do non-tolled rationing of highway access? Thinking about how much it costs to respond to I 90 wrecks, particularly in winter, around Snoqualmie pass and if it would be more cost-effective and safer to limit traffic. Like backpacking quotas.

Ulysses and anything by Pynchon, that shit is unreadable and I said what I said.
Good morning to everyone who has so disliked a book for literary reasons that they put a note in it to warn the next potential reader, before returning it to the Little Free Library.

Like, I dunno, maybe NYS acts like an escrow service; my federal taxes get paid to NYS first and then forwarded to the IRS by NYS if the feds actually pay out the federal funds that NY is owed..

Please share savory tart recipes. Meat is fine but not necessary and anything that uses dried mushrooms especially welcome. This request inspired by Six Seasons’ Onion Pancetta tart. No fresh tomatoes bc not in season (🤮).

Tkacik on Rubio and Perlstein on legacy media’s looking away & sometimes indulging right-wing political violence are shots to this chaser:
Instead of building on Gary Webb's underlying claim that the CIA was hip deep in the drug trade, the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and Washington Post picked his work apart in defense of the intelligence community and helped drum him out of mainstream journalism. He committed suicide in 2004.
What We Really Know About the CIA and Crack
The CIA claimed that any story linking it to the 1980s crack cocaine explosion was conspiratorial slander. But the evidence of its complicity is all there in the congressional record.

For those unfamiliar, this is a small park repurposed from an old church parking lot, in a part of town that is surrounded by apartment buildings – you know, the kinds of housing where people really appreciate a little access to green space down the street.

The assertion that the city needs more feedback makes me think that parks has not gotten the feedback that it wanted to hear so they are extending it in classic Seattle Process ™️ form.

I’m tired and there’s really only so much that I have capacity to push back against. It’s a fucking public park being held hostage by people who probably shouldn’t live in a city.

Today's fun estate and inheritance activity included sending various documents to the coop's attorneys so I can be officially a homeowner. It's likely just checking boxes and such but will relax a bit more once it is official.

The range of facial expressions from the crowd is sending me.
Mayor Katie Wilson is in the front row, looking casual. I can't remember if a mayor of Seattle has EVER sat in the audience in council chambers? Her security is here, but she isn't flanked by the entourage favored by her predecessor, who was rarely down here except for speeches.
