There's so much great journalism out there but the overwhelmingly majority of the best stuff is coming from small scrappy outfits that understand there's so much more than "both sides" and that fair reporting is a better standard than the illusion of objective reporting.

The Seattle mayoral race is over, but Katie Wilson has further extended her lead in the latest vote count. She leads with 2,018 votes or 0.73%, commanding 50.2% of the total vote. There’s only a small number of curable ballots left to potentially count.

Just updated the Seattle City Light account and wow could the private sector learn a lot from them. The least stressful of all the stuff I've had to do these last weeks and probably the most secure.

I've heard and seen enough. Glad there won't be a recount. Let's get to work.

I don't know if his taking this much more amiable approach would have made the contest even closer but this is such a different and much more likable person than the one who showed up at debates.

Earlier this week, all 74 of the Northwest’s endangered orcas gathered into what researchers call a superpod — a sort of all-inclusive family reunion.
Rare orca superpod comes to Seattle
They came together Sunday evening not far from Port Townsend. Why, no one can say for sure, except the participants themselves — and no humans speak their language.

Exactly. When we finally pass progressive revenue at the state level, we need to do it in a way that claws back the decades of underfunding and frontloads that. Then gradually scale back to a sustainable rate that offers a solid social safety net for all the essentials.
Background. @governorferguson.bsky.social & #waleg led by @wadems.org CUT ECEAP (preschool program for low-income Washingtonians) in the last budget. Now we're celebrating funding public programs via philanthropy, instead of raising taxes on these same billionaires.

Others are likely reflecting on @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social campaign messages “This is your city” and “Let’s get to work” as calls to action for those of us who support her. She can’t carry out her agenda single-handed and I hope we can all find ways to help her make all the good things happen.
