One of these things is not like the others.
A letter size sheet with an overview of parks and recreation facilities on Camano Island. There are lists of state parks, parks and trails, and county parks and trails nearby. There is also a listing for a golf course. It’s not a public golf course. And although it does seem to welcome the guests from outside the associated housing development, it strikes me as odd to include a private facility on a list of otherwise public facilities that offer a much broader range of activities.

October 24, 2025 Friends, family, neighbors, community: Rod passed yesterday around 1pm as I sat with him at home. I don’t have words or the energy to say much more at the moment than to share appreciation for the love, kindness, support, and comfort so many of you, near and far, have extended in these last weeks. To those of you who were able to visit yesterday, I treasure the chuckles and laughter and tears in that shared conversation and knowing how Rod touched so many people. Rod chose cremation and that process is moving forward. At present, I’m pondering a memorial in the spring or early summer, when we can include a memorial bike ride to Tolt-MacDonald Park as one component. I’ll let you know. I’ll be spending a few days away from home next week to give myself a bit of respite, privacy, and solitude. I’d love to keep texts and emails to a minimum for the immediate and near future except for urgent matters. Only got one Pink Berkeley Tie Dye from the garden this year, so far, but was worth the wait. This tomato is so reliably delicious. Next year will be another low-tomato year but will always grow this one.
A sort of oval shaped tomato that has dark green stripey shoulders and dark red body with a few of the stripes continuing through the red. Interior of tomato, with a juicy seed cavity in close up. You can see how dark the skin is on the shoulders.

Is there a Seattle version of a budget overview like this one county CM Mosqueda just sent out?
A one page overview of the 2026-27 King County budget (might be the proposed budget, I'm not certain). It has a nice pie chart that explains what funds go where and clearly and simply explains the difference between restricted and general funds.

Me texting my friend just this past Saturday. Thankfully, their mom was around and I was able to poop!
So, yeah, public restrooms including the budget for cleaning, which will also massively reduce stinky spots when people have no other options but to find a place in public.
Text exchange where I'm telling my friend I need to use the bathroom desperately and happened to be near their home. They had just left home, but their mom was home and I was able to poop. Phew.
