Most important, contra Westneat and Horsey, who seem to think this race is about grievance and anger: it’s really about hope. Hundreds of volunteers are out knocking on doors every week because they share our positive vision for Seattle's future. #ThisIsYOURCity
I guess we’re at the point in the campaign where pundits and consultants make excuses as to why their candidate is losing. 🧵

The switch that flipped in Seattle politics
The sight of unimaginable Big Tech wealth at the gates of American democracy shook Seattle politics. The mayor, among others, may not survive the quake.

I just got around to actually reading this @kuow.org piece on me, and there’s ANOTHER major inaccuracy, beyond the "parents pay my bills" bit. 🧵
Katie Wilson can barely afford to live in Seattle. That's why she wants to be mayor

What changed is pretty simple! (1) The Lake City Fred Meyer closure threatens to create a food & pharmacy desert in a neighborhood that clearly has the customer base to support a grocery store. The surrounding community is angry about it and looking for solutions.
curious to see what has changed for @wilsonkatieb.bsky.social in the last two months to wanting to explore this option for Seattle now
In sum, I would love to do this in principle, but wouldn't want to do it just because it sounds good and then have it turn into a major drain on City time, energy, and resources without real measurable benefits for Seattle residents.

Running for mayor is no joke, but it also has fun tangents, like having a chance to show off your husband's bagel skills!
I tried Seattle mayoral candidate Katie Wilson's (husband's) bagels

This is a bold step by the city workers, who stand to lose a lot by angering the famously grudge-holding Mayor. It is sign of the spreading realization that Bruce is vulnerable and a sign of their courage that they are willing to take this risk.

At a press conference at City Hall this morning, the Working Families Party and PROTEC17—the largest union of City of Seattle workers—endorsed Katie Wilson for mayor. The city union's endorsement is especially monumental because for most of these workers, incumbent Bruce Harrell is their boss.

Reconsidering this, as the most recent filing shows Harrell’s campaign itself spent $35k on polling — presumably telling them to paint me as an angry, divisive, cop-hating socialist. I hope he feels that was money well spent!
I’m guessing this poll was paid for by the “Bruce Harrell for Seattle's Future” PAC, which has spent $14,000 on “Research Opposing Katie Wilson.”
