Editor's note, 10/28/2025: The original story incorrectly stated that there were discrepancies between Wilson's disclosure form and the tax filings of her nonprofit. The IRS requires disclosure of any compensation to elected officers of the board. Wilson does not receive compensation in this capacity. The IRS also requires disclosure of compensation for a "key employee" if it exceeds $150,000, or for the highest compensated employees if they receive more than $100,000. Wilson's reported compensation is below these thresholds. KUOW regrets the error and apologizes for the mistakes in our reporting."

I’m guessing this poll was paid for by the “Bruce Harrell for Seattle's Future” PAC, which has spent $14,000 on “Research Opposing Katie Wilson.”

With our city facing serious challenges, from homelessness and affordable housing, to transportation and climate change, to attacks from Trump and MAGA Republicans, we need a seasoned leader with a proven track record who has the skills to manage a major city from day one." "Katie Wilson has a long history of supporting former city councilmember Kshama Sawant and her divisive vision for Seattle. Wilson endorsed Sawant multiple times, opposed the effort to recall her, and she even contributed to Sawant's campaign personally. At a time when we need to stand united against Trump's attacks on our city, we can't afford to go back to the politics of shouting, accusing, and undermining fellow Democrats." "Katie Wilson will raise taxes on working families and small businesses. While she claims her tax proposals would only increase taxes on the rich, her plans don't protect local small businesses and working people, and would make Seattle an even more expensive city to live in. We can't afford a self-described socialist who plans to raise taxes even higher when so many working families are struggling to make ends meet in our city." "Katie Wilson campaigns on progressive housing solutions, yet her support for the most radical housing activists has backfired. As a result of policies she supported, real affordable housing units were sold off, forcing smaller landlords our of the market and worsening the crisis. The shelters we have are full. "At any point, 95% of beds are filled, with turnover accounting for some of the vacancy." And shockingly, “Each year Harrell has been in office, Seattle has lost shelter beds.” They’re not even trying.

Encampment removals, a.k.a. sweeps, have risen to record levels under Harrell’s administration. If you’re not paying close attention, you might notice fewer tents and think “wow, Harrell’s really cleaning up the streets.”
