It is time for state and local governments to arrest masked officers who won’t produce warrants and who have no proof someone is undocumented.

Kidnappers should be arrested and indicted and tried for kidnapping and serve the many years such sentences carry.

Already hearing from friends who have made it back to Northgate and points beyond after the parade. Sounder North is apparently more popular going northbound than it was coming down from Everett this morning. Sounder South, already popular, is feeling very cozy.

Thank you Metro, ST, CT, KT, & PT!

Reminder that Starbucks’ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.

Now, Starbucks is lifting a cap on the CEO's use of a private jet to commute from California to Seattle.

It's been four years since Starbucks stores began unionizing and workers still don't have a contract.

Big news that the City of Seattle has settled with Jaahnavi Kandula's family. Kandula was killed by an SPD officer more than 3 years ago.

Also, btwn this and the City's payout in the Antonio Mays Jr. CHOP shooting case, the City has paid out at least $59.5 million in the last 2 weeks.

NEW: Sound Transit says simulated service on the full 2 Line will start THIS SATURDAY.

From ST: "Passengers will be able to ride test trains between International District/Chinatown and Lynnwood City Center stations and service hours on the existing 2 Line [...] will be extended until midnight."

It is now the afternoon of hearing day 5 of the environmental appeal which has delayed 90 units of affordable housing on Bainbridge Island (which is in the top 3% most-unaffordable cities in the US).

They are still discussing what metadata gets created when Word saves a file to AutoRecover.
They're still talking about the metadata on the original Word version of the SEPA checklist. This is apparently the smoking gun.

This hearing is definitely going into a fourth day.

How nice of the Seattle Times editorial board to give column space to Andrea Suarez, a local MAGA "leader" to promote her noxious ideas this weekend.
That is We 💚 Seattle's executive director & founder, agreeing with the deportation raids happening.

I have no faith they wouldn't try and turn over people they encounter to #ICE who they thought were undocumented or vulnerable to deportation.

Uh say what now
House Oversight hearing on ICE opens with the rules:

"It is also a clear violation of the rules of the House to make statements that might personally be offensive to the President or the Vice President of the United States."

Friendly reminder that the @seattletimes editorial board does not share Seattle’s values. Many of our local residents have no idea what their actual agenda is, because they hide behind a capable newsroom.

Of course, the Seattle Times editorial board insisted she was a Democrat in their inane endorsement of her. This, despite the fact that the state chair said absolutely not, and that her record made it extremely clear.

Also remembering when Amazon and Microsoft each donated $100k the campaign against funding mixed income social housing in Seattle.
Seeing Amazon and Microsoft’s top lobbyist writing in the @seattletimes.com that we should support housing when these two both use their personal funds to elect anti housing NIMBYs against pro-housing candidates—is galling.

Such spectacular bullshit.

Love this. They did this at their concert last year in Seattle and it was, of course, well received.

Make some noise today Green Day!
Green Day has changed the lyrics of "American Idiot" to "I'm not a part of the MAGA agenda."

The band is set to open the 2026 Super Bowl.
