Then I look out at America's place on the world stage under Trump and I get even angrier
Re ICE actrocities in MN, I’ve already said that lately I feel consistently angrier than I’ve ever felt in my long life.

But I also feel absolutely heartsick. That poor little 5-year old baby kidnapped, imagining how scared he was…

I know many of you feel the same. Love and solidarity to you.

Feel like we crossed that threshold when we allowed toddlers to represent themselves in immigration courts.
Incapable of understanding how "abolish ICE" was silly but arresting 5 year olds is public policy

This is the Trump administration trashing the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution in pursuit of its mass deportation agenda.

Worse, a footnote to this memo suggest they won't even rule out authorizing home invasions with no judicial warrant for people not even ordered removed!

🚨HOLY CRAP. An ICE whistleblower just revealed a secret memo authorizing ICE officers to break into homes without a judicial warrant, which DHS's own legal training materials say is unconstitutional!

ICE then hid the memo from the public, passing it along by word of mouth and private conversation.

I am not a social media influencer I am just a regular Minneapolis dad trying to do a kid pickup this morning and get some gas. What do I find but that one guy and a bunch of bortech (whatever that is) blocking the station for a glamour shot. I stood right where I wanted to stand this is my town.

Neighborhood watch is taking on a new form in Minneapolis and other cities under occupation by federal immigration agents: ICE Watch.

These folks, who're tailing federal agents as they make arrests, are passionate, determined, and just about everywhere—and ICE is getting frustrated.

We’ve annotated this satellite imagery from January 20th to show the proximity of where the journalists using a drone were killed to the displacement camps and the nearest IDF outposts in Gaza. The Yellow Line is where Israeli troops withdrew to following the US-brokered deal with Hamas.

These people aren’t just devoid of empathy, they don’t believe it actually exists. They also took a $50K bonus to terrorize immigrants.

So the idea that regular people would spontaneously come to the aid and defense of their neighbors is just utterly foreign to them.
ICE agents will come to the school patrol asking who the organizers are believing they’re like Soros shadow figures, and it’s like a bespectacled software engineer who didn’t know the names of more than 5 parents two weeks ago.

The most important technological revolution of our lifetime has nothing to do with AI:

Important to realize also that, once constructed, solar infrastructure just keeps working*, for decades, with very little additional cost. There's no need for a constant stream of inputs like fossil fuels.
Check this one fact out:

"In 2024, the total installed electricity capacity of the planet—every coal, gas, hydro, and nuclear plant and all of the renewables—was about 10 terawatts. The Chinese solar supply chain can now pump out 1 terawatt of panels every year."

#SCOTUS is likely to do the right thing in the Lisa Cook case.

But it's worth bearing in mind that this idea that the Fed is some bespoke exception to the unitary executive theory is utterly incoherent as a matter of both law and history—and is really just proof that the UET is itself bollocks:
153. Living by the Ipse Dixit
A constitutional principle like the "unitary executive theory" isn't worth all that much if the Supreme Court can conjure new, unprincipled exceptions to it by simply asserting that they exist.

I cannot tell you how absolutely infuriatingly this stuff comes across to Europeans.

When we say America is no longer a reliable ally, it goes considerably deeper than Donald Trump himself. This kind of complacent, condescending shit is a *huge* part of it.

When this is over, amoral anti-American law firms like Jones Day will eagerly be running Operation Paperclip for the lawless scum of the Trump DoJ like D. John Sauer, and the profession has to find a way to inflict debilitating harm on those firms and their managers or give up on the rule of law.
After Sauer says Lisa Cook "was given an opportunity" to respond to the allegations, KBJ asks whether that due process was: "She supposed to post about it, and that was the opportunity to be heard?"

Yes, Sauer replies.
