But imagine what we could do with the Trailhead Direct buses outside of the summer season?

Lake City / Northgate / Greenwood / Carkeek Park
Beacon Hill / Columbia City / Othello / Seward Park
Gasworks / Fremont / Ballard Locks / Golden Gardens
Westlake / Queen Anne / Discovery Park
Mmm, indeed
and why. why does my brain do this. what happened to me to make me like this

A long weekend of riding Amtrak and staying at my favorite Portland hotel (Inn at Northrup Station; they give you Portland Streetcar tickets!) is always awesome.

This weekend, a person on a Portland transit vehicle tried to make the argument to fare enforcement that it's their free speech right to play music onboard without headphones
Fuck people that watch videos on the bus or train without headphones

So far no trains are signed as (2) this side of the lake, that I’ve seen, and no onboard announcements. But they’re definitely here and absolutely busy. ST customer service people are doing great.

Happy (2) West day to all who celebrate

Online services that use passkeys (yay!) but require me to confirm the login with a code deliver by SMS (boo) confuse the crap out of me.

I'm kind of disappointed that none of you talked about Stonegate (Canada / Sweden getting into a snarking match over Canada touching the stone on delivery right after the hog line) which is the most "what?!" I've thought about Olympic curling since the Russian team got caught doping.

I’ve been looking for a good to-go lunch salad at Pike Place Market, and I think I found it. Kitchen & Market’s Southwest Cobb Salad is tasty. (Still no seating on the street sadly so I took it to the Overlook Walk)

Excluding news reporting, my Bluesky feed has split into three distinct genres and I'm not entirely sure how:

- Look at this plant/animal/streetscape
- Trans women doing networking (I do networking but am neither trans nor a woman)
- Where are the spaces for kids in this country?!?

Some doofus in the youtube comments section was big mad that the museum's account has pronouns listed. I didn't even know we did, but now I'm keeping them there, just to be a tar-pit to catch the next asshole who wanders through.

Trans rights are human rights, motherfucker.

Nice rant about society. Have you tried taxing the rich about it?

Turn the Sinking Ship Garage into the best public restroom this city has ever seen

Already hearing from friends who have made it back to Northgate and points beyond after the parade. Sounder North is apparently more popular going northbound than it was coming down from Everett this morning. Sounder South, already popular, is feeling very cozy.

Thank you Metro, ST, CT, KT, & PT!

One of the best things about curling is we have the best TV announcers. The TSN crews are magnificent. Even NBC gets it right and has Kevin Martin (literal Canadian royalty for curling) and Jason Knapp (almost single-handedly established curling for a US TV audience) doing the gold medal game.

It's been five years since the Washington legislature passed then-Rep.-now-Sen. Drew Hansen's Public Broadband Act and Seattle still doesn't have a plan to actually build a municipal broadband network. We should do that.

Seattle's internet situation just got worse. Here's a better way | Op-Ed
Mayor Wilson should direct Seattle City Light to develop a business plan for municipal broadband as its next major infrastructure initiative.

Kinda cheesed off that both Kalshi and Grok got elevated to “question to an answer on Jeopardy”.

Waited to cross on foot at nine* intersections with "no right on red" signs today, in downtown, Northgate, and on Capitol Hill. Not one driver respected the signs, including two driving for Metro.

It was nice before drivers figured out no one will be enforcing the signs.

* Yes, I counted.

Wednesday will definitely be record @sound-transit.bsky.social light rail ridership.

I’ll throw out that it crushes 250,000 rides. About double the weekday average in July, the busiest month.

Who’s needs sports betting when you’ve got transit ridership betting?

Anyway, yes I will be watching the replay (because I have to take my dog to the vet at 7:30 in the morning) of the Czech Republic / Estonia curling game while they play for "last place" and I really hope Estonia finds one more win in this pretty awesome Olympic curling season for them.

As someone who is a stereotypical nerd and has some sports interests (mainstream and, uh, curling): we had the same thing done to us getting crapped on by "the jocks" for playing Magic: The Gathering, watching Star Trek, or using computers. Don't do this to other people. It's rude.
Yes. We get it. You don't like sportsball.

In 40 years: “famed truth teller @ericacbarnett.bsky.social had a SPD public records request denied here, making this a vital part of a turbulent Seattle history, requiring preservation”.

Wow that Sweden/Norway mixed doubles game was absolutely brutal. What a way for Norway to pick up their first win this Olympics but damn.

Norway stole (scored without having last rock advantage) *nine* points...including 1 in the required 6th end after Sweden wanted to shake hands in the 5th lol

I need @meganross.bsky.social and @safesler.bsky.social to weigh in on two words of this clue (really, just one of the words).

(Also, I'm pretty sure virtually no one has cause to take that cab ride of late.)
