Have we yelled about it “Always being the same map” again? Here I am to remind you just in case. Heh.
seattle's political geography is as wild as (and presumably at some level is reflective of) its physical geopraphy

So @lizmiele.bsky.social is one of my favorite comedians. She produces her own specials which are great. Posting though to recommend what's going to be a podcast, where she & comedian friends workshop (probably bad, according to her) new material.

I find it a little weird that a concession speech (which is a campaign activity) is being done with city resources.

I get it that it's really not a big deal since it's not affecting any vote and it's among the last things a campaign can do.

Yes, I'm very pedantic.
Just In: The Seattle Mayor’s Office has sent a notice for a special public address by Mayor Bruce Harrell tomorrow at noon.

Is there a beginners electronics repair class in Seattle? I want to be able to repair music gear but want practical lessons for lay people who don’t have time or money for a full on degree.

So many people now experts on what is a "true threat", a term used in court cases around threats and violence.

This is actually a subskeet about moderation.

Katie Wilson as Seattle mayor feels like the most fundamentally different change in Seattle governance since I started participating in the late 90s. Mike McGinn was a change from the status quo, but not like this.

Nothing like a proposal for a modest amount of lower-income housing nearby to find out who your neighbors are.

Why does news media keep calling Katie Wilson a socialist? Kshama Sawant was a socialist. Sawant was arguably far left. As far as I can tell, Wilson is somewhat left of center and the only thing "far" about her is she will actually do stuff rather than sit on her hands.

glad it has a grocery
We’re making progress in the Fillmore. Today, the city received an application to create 1,800 homes and a grocery store on the former Safeway site — an important first step in the right direction.

I'd love to know what kind of leverage this dude thinks we have in December. Because it looks to me like the only leverage is bad PR over health care prices, and i don't think they'll care.
That December vote is a huge moment we can turn into a victory. People are watching. Good bill, we win; they cheat, they will lose. If we fight united.

SFPD are a bunch of incompetents if they can't handle a dog that's barking without shooting the dog and its owner.

I refuse to support a funding bill that fails to address the Republican health care crisis.

And make health insurance affordable.

The American people clearly understand the stakes and the urgency. We must too.

I'm voting no.

This bill doesn’t address the core issue that millions of Americans will no longer be able to afford ACA insurance coverage next year. I’m willing to work with anyone to create a path forward but this isn’t it.

I hope Senate Democrats understand what a shit show they'll have with constituents if they agree to this "deal". It'll be good enough for the WP and NYT editorial boards, but actual people will hate it.

@murray.senate.gov @cantwell.senate.gov I hope this is just a rumor because this would be disrespectful to the people Democrats say they’re fighting for.
Let me get this right… a sufficient number Senate Democrats appear to be willing to reopen government to alleviate air travel for upper & upper-middle income people at the expense of access to healthcare for lower income people. Yes?
