This is why I don’t trust the "Never Trump" Bulwark guys. They’re perfectly comfortable with real people being harmed, so long as the harm comes via a process they can label “liberal democracy.”

The Democratic party would win elections repeatedly if they competently challenged corporate power.
There’s a funny Politico story showing that the latest polling on AI shows 80-20 in favor of heavy regulations, an absolute slam dunk platform, but Dems are worried about not winning back mask-off tech CEO donors

dems serious about winning really have no choice but to seriously embrace antitrust reform and challenge corporate power, because their failure to do so earnestly opened the door to phony ass authoritarian pseudo-populism
Pretending to challenge corporate power has been one of the motivating points of the Trump platform. If someone did it for real, that would really be something.

The fact that when you mention Elon Musk people think of rockets or cars or Twitter; the fact that when you think of RFK Jr you think of eating roadkill and brainworms and Nuzzi, and not the fact they have killed incomprehensible numbers of people is an embarrassment of our collective attentions

Like these people are murderers. Straight up. And should be called that. Not “complex figures with controversial views sure to raise eyebrows of academics and pundits alike” or whatever

They will have literally, knowingly, through their direct actions killed thousands of children and others.

I know it won’t matter because democrats are useless and even if they take back power they’ll just have some limpdick reconciliation message, but this is literally going to kill people and RFK Jr should spend the remainder of his life in a cell in a just world, just as Musk should.

I love working at the Department of Justice and participating in a conspiracy to cover up the demented 80 year old president's sex crimes. I spend 18 hours a day redacting documents and there's a putrid husk where my soul used to be

🙄 Sen. Mark Kelly has been spending spam texts asking for money to take on Trump and Hegseth’s department of defense’s investigation targeting him less than 24 hours after he voted to approve a $900 billion defense authorization budget for a pentagon run by Trump and Hegseth.

Cynical and gross. 🤮

LOL - Senate (and House) Republicans are ending their "probe" into Hegseth's boat strikes after they got Schumer, Durbin and majority of the Senate Democratic Caucus to vote for a $900 billon defense authorization bill for Trump/Hegseth.

periodically I'll see a backlash that goes a little too far or seems kinda unfair. i never say anything because i think we need to be kinda unhinged and zealous in our response to this shit. I'd take an honest-to-God crusade against this stuff over letting it proliferate.
We can do even more.

This is why Newsom and Buttigieg should be nonstarters as 2028 candidates. We need people who will fight for marginalized groups and not capitulate to the right to seem more "Moderate." If they want to be in the tent, they can agree to uphold the basic party tenets, end of story.

Here are the 28 Dem Senators who voted to advance the first federal ban on trans athletes & a federal definition of sex that would make trans & intersex people non-existent: Angela Alsobrooks (MD), Tammy Baldwin (WI), Richard Blumenthal (CT), Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), Chris Coons (DE), ->
By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. (Rand Paul probably voted nay and Steve Daines has been absent).

the thing is that this guy keeps being like, "god no you idiots, we don't use AI for THAT" and then keeps narrowing down what they actually use GenAI for to the point where it's not even clear to me what productivity gains it's supposed to be providing.

Look man I don’t think the people being poisoned by data centers really care if you remove the generated assets before shipping, and I don’t really care if you “only” use the machine that stole my shit and convinced teens to off themselves for internal PowerPoints.

Cool motive. Still bullshit tho.
