The thing about being an educator working in PK-12 is you learn very quickly how little so many adults value and respect children. Even those whose job is to teach them. Children have agency. All adults - including parents and educators - should protect that.

I know the proliferation of references to non-existent papers, powered by genAI, is getting less surprising and shocking but it doesn't make it any less potentially corrosive to the scholarly knowledge environment.
