If one actually followed Newsom’s political career as a constituent and/or as part of the CA press, this would never be put to pixels
J-MART, on Newsom:

“.. Ask yourself: How many other potential candidates .. can transcend the political-pop culture divide ..?

“.. there may not be a modern political figure who was simultaneously so well-positioned to be his party’s nominee ..”

Gio Reyna scoring and assisting in #USMNT colors despite not setting the world on fire at Gladbach might be a case of “just call him in regardless” as he just shows up for us and does things that most others in the player pool can’t

Usually I agree with the pastor but sir, my wife is from Arkansas and has only ruined my life in the good way

(it’s probably cuz she and her sister wanted to get out fast; being Jewish there is tough)
I have told y’all time and time again… cavorting with people from Arkansas will ruin your life!!!!!

agreed, @jamellebouie.net cooked a full-course meal of a column. Either Dems choose to embrace the radicalism needed to reverse the slide to authoritarianism and put laws in place to prevent it from happening again -- or they should step aside for pols who will.

Soooooo much this. I know the ballots would be long, but the tradeoff would be worth it. King County is already doing it for councilmember and executive elections — I think Zahilay’s term is only 3 years because of the switch
The ease of mail-in voting only gets us so far in juicing voter turnout. We could have much higher turnout for local elections if we wanted. To do that, we would need to move local elections uniformly to even-numbered years.
Voter turnout in the Seattle election has reached 55.95%. That's the highest mayoral election voter turnout this century for the city, besting even the 2009 election when there was 54.99% voter turnout.

Huh, so low turnout concerns turned out to not be the case! Go us!

POLITICIANS: Here is how you answer that question: "King County sets the gold standard for ballot access, security and accuracy. The process includes multiple layers of quality control, tracking, and voter feedback to ensure every ballot is counted and the will of the people is upheld."
OK, "misunderstanding" is the wrong word here. There's a purposeful disinformation campaign from right wingers in WA to sow doubt about our elections. I honestly can't believe @mayorofseattle.bsky.social Harrell would say something like this, especially after the good stuff he said prior.

helping an old colleague with her podcast for some $$ -- mostly planning and research plus some editing. it's good to pick up some new skills that reinforce old ones. I haven't logged an interview in forever.

lol "after careful consideration, we have decided to move forward with other candidates"

i submitted the application 2.5 hours ago; there was no care involved on your end at all.

had another interview today, felt like it was another good conversation and I'm likely to get to the next stage, but who knows?

Need to fix my IG algo or ditch it entirely because it’s a combo of feminist/mental load/fair play creator content (which I mostly agree with) and creators trying to sell me on how I can save my marriage though subtle shifts that bring “her emotional walls down.”

maybe this time he'll actually use Katie Wilson's name. We might even get a "Mayor-Elect" in front of it, but that would be a stretch when he insisted on calling her "my opponent" at every debate.
Just In: The Seattle Mayor’s Office has sent a notice for a special public address by Mayor Bruce Harrell tomorrow at noon.

This puts the Seattle mayoral election outside of recount territory!

A recount is required when the race is within 2,000 votes AND 0.5%. Katie Wilson now leads Bruce Harrell by 0.72%. #waelex #SEAelex

the reason you are all confused by how poorly written all of these emails are is that all of you have, at some point, had a boss who would have fired you for grammar and punctuation this poor, none of these people ever did

The WORST people in Seattle are crashing out about mayor-elect Katie Wilson.

Frankly, you love to see it

VERY funny that Andrea Suarez thinks the reason Bruce Harrell didn't win is because he didn't give her and her jackboots the key to the city lmaooooooo
