This much is clear: Stephen Miller is in charge. They've shipped off Bovino, they're hanging Noem out to dry, Trump is using slightly conciliatory language...and Miller is still running a blitzkrieg in Minnesota. He, not Trump, is in charge. And he is the one Democrats should fight to remove.
here's a video from this afternoon in Eden Prairie MN of ICE agents camping out as a bus stop.

Again, this is terrorism.

They should just take the presentation down and should not have allowed it in the first place. And the language in the presentation is, on its own, torture porn—describing gruesome acts of sexual abuse in brutalizing, exploitative detail.

it's so revealing how the ethics of displaying graphic images of SA victims and saying the slurs hurled at them are "something to be considered to" rather than a primay concern
Kettle notes that @alexis4seattle.bsky.social raised issues with the exploitative presentation and says "the ethical piece is something to be considered to" and says "I do apologize for the concern with the ethical piece of that."

it's totally dumb that he's not first ballot and I bet it's highly Barry-Bonds-like because he's a jerk to the media (and they prob don't like his girlfriend)
A stunner from @dvnjr.bsky.social and me: Bill Belichick is not a first ballot Hall of Famer. He didn't get elected this year. The 8-time champion failed to 40 out of the 50 votes required for induction.

The professionalism is indisputable, no? An undisciplined and untrained policing agency steeped in this much contempt and disregard of the citizenry can't actually be reformed. Abolish -- before more of us are beaten, killed or detained indefinitely and without legal cause.

this entire thread is galling to read. I'm not surprised at county prosecutors advocating for the most punitive approach to sex work, but it is appalling to read what they're entering into the record for what seems like little more than shock value. A severe lack of morals or ethics on display.
The King County Prosecutor's Office is currently doing an exceptionally exploitative presentation about sex trafficking to the Seattle City Council that includes slides of identifiable bloodied, brutalized women and identifiable women who are nude or nearly nude.

it always goes well for fascists and wannabe fascists when they start making enemies lists.

part of this bluster by Homan is that the feds are hoping the people they arrest have neither built community nor resources, and a protest that has rattled DHS so much already took this into account
TOM HOMAN: “We’re going to create a database where those people that are arrested for interference, impeding and assault, we’re going to make them famous. We’re going to put their face on TV. We’re going to let their employers, in their neighborhoods, in their schools, know who these people are.”

today's a good day to call my rep and senators' offices and demand they support the abolition of ICE and DHS
Push the Overton window. Shove it. Don't settle, don't stop bsky.app/profile/char...
Texas Governor Greg Abbott (!!!) is now publicly criticizing ICE. Oh, they're getting scared now. The backlash is being felt, and they don't want any part of this narrative.

it’s a bunch of dudes cosplaying as hard. It’s a serious matter that they are armed and can kill you, but they are still LARPers, and I acknowledge this is unfair to both cosplayers and LARPers.
This administration is cooked. Literally no one is scared of them.

I remain absolutely furious that all this shit in Minneapolis started because a barely-literate homeschooled mormon made a video trying to run up in daycare centers trying to find people of Somalian descent doing fraud despite the ringleader (a white woman) being in jail since March. Demonic.

Worth noting that one reason you’re benefitting so fully from the Star-Tribune’s timely, extensive coverage of unfolding events is that it’s a metro newspaper that hasn’t been systematically starved to further enrich shareholders and executives.

The new bare minimum for any Democrat who dares to run for federal office is this: abolish the entire Department of Homeland Security and redistribute its responsibilities, then promise an immediate investigation of all ICE actions and prosecution all the way up to the president.
January 24, 2026 at 11:55 PM
Remove the president, the vice president, and the speaker of the house, one after another.
Abolish ICE, prosecute and imprison its leaders, impeach and remove the President from office. This is the only sane reaction to a group of armed men kidnapping and gunning down our neighbors in the street.
As tens of thousands across America protest the violence that ICE sows with impunity, federal agents shot and killed another person in Minneapolis today.

ICE terrorizes our cities. ICE puts us all in danger. Abolish ICE.

I'm not sure Democrats in D.C. are aware that their base's rage against ICE has reached a level of blinding white-hot intensity.

They're worried about "looking weak" for voting "against law enforcement" when they should be worried a mob of housewives is going to come beat them to death if they do.

The rabbi who leads my congregation in Seattle flew to Minneapolis yesterday to help support people in the Twin Cities. He is already doing more than any Democrat in Congress.
I don’t want to hear anything from an elected official unless it’s a plan to defund the DHS and impeach Noem, Bovino, etc. No texts. No emails. No talk about the economy. Step up or step off.

The last couple of weeks have really affirmed that video can’t work if authorities have decided they’re not bound by anything, least of all reality. Rodney King and Latasha Harlins really schooled me on this a long time ago but my problem is I kept believing people wouldn’t just lie like this.
