It's not just "consumer smart" it reduces environmental waste, key materials are often mined in slave conditions. The whole tenor of the article is wrong - why is the economy so dependent on us engaging in mass waste?

Two days ago, the regime police in Georgia arrested a man over squeaking a chicken toy towards the police.

So, yesterday, many people brought these chickens to do the same.

Turns out this was all much ado about nothing and Google isn’t using your Gmail to train AI and if wanna turn all that stuff back on you can get your spam filters back
Looks like the article has been updated to suggest maybe they misread the policy.

I see people complaining that this also disabled their spam filters, though I still see new messages showing up in spam so it's still working fine for me after disabling things.

If you're wondering why a large chunk of ostensibly left-of-center pundits are waging war on environmental protections in the form of an "abundance agenda," it's because Silicon Valley has quietly developed a culture of rampant pollution.

YES THIS SAFETY FOR EVERYONE
A cyclist on a sidewalk is usually a symptom of bad infrastructure.

As I often say, cyclist vs. pedestrian conflicts arise because both are fighting over the scraps of space not occupied by cars. But what if we took that space from cars to make biking, walking, and rolling safer?
my hot take as a full-time pedestrian and transit rider is that i want cities to do the absolute maximum amount to provide cyclists with safe and protected bike lanes everywhere so that i don't have to feel the least bit bad for kicking one off the sidewalk into the street

i've been taking adderall since i was 5. any day that i snuck away from taking it i would inevitably get sent to the principal's office for something. this is a wonder drug that keeps adhd children from abject misery. adhd therapy will never come close to the effectiveness of adhd medication
every time the pediatric adhd medication discourse starts up, i gotta remind folks that getting pediatric adhd behavioral therapy is nearly impossible to get for many families. one of the worst shortages out there. medication is often the only realistic option available to desperate parents

I really hate it when scientists keep saying that “we need to rebuild trust in science,” because it implies that scientists are to blame for the mistrust rather than the millions of dollars of dark money that have funded political attacks on science in order to advance a far right agenda.

I was reminded of this recently, looked up the history, and learned that, like a lot of things, townships in NC were largely stripped of their powers and elected officials by white supremacist Redeemers after Reconstruction because township governments contained the most Black elected officials.
Townships in North Carolina are just lines on a county map. I think they sometimes demarcate fire districts, but that’s about it. There are no township governments, and they don’t do anything. Some might contain cohesive unincorporated communities similar to towns but with no town governments.

Disability education should not be put into HHS because it's not a health issue, it's an education issue. The idea that disability = health is dehumanizing and, frankly, simply wrong.
