this should really be illegal!
Child marriage is heinous, but one thing I never see brought up in those discussions is that if you are under 18, you cannot file for divorce. If you are under 18 and married to an adult, they are your legal guardian and make decisions for you. That is not a partnership.
Most Minors Who Are Married Can't File for Divorce — Even if They Want To
The final installment of Wedlocked, our series about child marriage in the U.S., explores divorce.

You can't understand Trump and the MAGA movement without recognizing the central role of anti-Blackness to their strategy. @aapf.org's new report is essential reading for anyone invested in building the multiracial movement for democracy 👇
Our new report, Anti-Blackness Is the Point, out today reveals how Trump’s second administration has worked to roll back 60+ years of civil rights and equal opportunity. From racist narratives to book bans, the attack is coordinated and historic in its scope.

Was thrilled to help consult for this fantastic John Oliver segment on the tragic plight of U.S. public media and why, if we hope to be a democracy, we still need public media for so many things that commercial media will never provide. Deserves a wide viewership. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yknM...

She was a champion for justice, lifting the voices of a broad array of disabled people, and disabled joy ❤️

A small pet peeve when reading articles/watching video essays about food culture is when they start with some line like 'surprisingly food is political'.
Places were colonized for food, people were enslaved to work in agriculture, hell food was just used in a big political move in the US.

While there are technically differences between pedophilia, hebephilia, and ephebophila, especially how the abuse occurs and the treatment the abused need to heal, I think that the average person generally (and rightfully) lumps them all together because they all are abuses of sex and power.

THIS IS HUGE! Researchers have just identified a powerful new antibiotic that is 100x STRONGER than existing drugs against deadly superbugs like MRSA and VRE. Hiding in a well-known soil bacterium, pre-methylenomycin C lactone KILLS drug-resistant bacteria WITHOUT triggering resistance.

those of us laid off from Teen Vogue were really fortunate to complete our fundraising goal — the laid-off staffers at VIBE deserve the same support, as Black media outlets and journalists continue to be targeted and discriminated against in “austerity” measures
It was announced on October 16, 2025 that VIBE was "joining forces" with Rolling Stone. As a result, the majority of VIBE employees were laid off. If you have the means to give, this team could use the support! www.gofundme.com/f/support-vi...

Times when the baby kicks a lot:
- About 1 hour after meals
- Anytime between 8-9 PM (night owl apparently)
- When I play Jon Baptiste's music
- Whenever my spouse talks about corporate buybacks (his dissertation topic)
