I’m fuming. If the National Parks are America’s best idea then letting the guy who made the truck-that-doesn’t-stop and the subway-that-doesn’t-work decide where to cut corners might be the WORST.
Want to go visit the national parks this year?
Sorry.
The reservation system is shut down, EMT personnel are gone, so don't get hurt or lost. No one can clean the bathrooms or cabins, so they'll be closed. Rangers are fired.

Another word for "regulation" is...

"consumer protection"
"environmental protection"

"Regulation" means your milk is safe. "Regulation" means toys that harm your babies are removed from the shelves. "Regulation" means chemical companies can't dump waste in your river.
my kingdom for an elected official who will stand up and defend the fact that the government employs people to test wastewater and send old people money and keep an eye on the bears in the park and make sue the people that scammed you

one thing Congressional Democrats could be doing is using the franking privilege to send mailers out to every constituent informing them that an unelected organization without Congressional oversight has control of their social security information (which is in fact legal for them to do)

Going down a rabbit hole now but this is a very simple graphic I found that shows a small change in design can have a big impact here.

It seems obvious, and it is, but I see a lot of bad streetlights in the wild.

I question Michael Bender's use of the words and phrases I have highlighted in the opening paragraphs of his article about J. D. Vance's comments. These strike me as normalizing euphemisms that distract from the dangerous content of the AfD's (and Vance's) far-right politics.

The greatest trick the devil pulled was convincing people they had more in common with politicians who show up twice a decade to ask for votes than their own neighbours who live with them every day
A lot of white Dems really thought their politicians were saviors.

They are finding out the hard way that even and especially in the most dire times, their electeds are not leaders.

Until they reckon with the fact that their faith was misplaced, they will not be able to locate hope.
What I have a problem with... so few dems showed up to help activists over the decades but they're experts at hiding and wwwhining on the internet.

Correct. If the birthdate field contains corrupt or mismatched data, it defaults to 1875-05-20, which serves as a flag. May 20, 1875, is the day the international standards and metrics treaty was signed. Everything is a conspiracy when you don’t know how anything works.
