I can't tell you how thrilled I am that someone as wonderful as Joyce Carol Oates has gotten under Elon Musk's skin.

Trump/GOP have so much power now they don't even care about the optics.

They embrace taking away healthcare, in a call from Trump relaxing on his Florida golf course.
They are trying desperately to stop the government from feeding the poor, including now trying to claw back allowed payments.

Two more days
Here's a tease:
Next week we're releasing a major update of the Pacific Institute's Water Conflict Chronology -- the best open-source database on violence over water resources.

The news isn't good.

Any journalists interested in getting embargoed info prior to the release, reach out to me.

Not sure how desperately trying to keep food from hungry Americans helps the GOP but hey, that's just me.

New pressure to start a #water war with Mexico over water that simply isn't available, in part due to climate-change reductions in flows (not mentioned in the article).

Trump/GOP air chaos coming.

Brand it now.

Maths...

If you make $100,000 a year (not bad), it will take you 10 MILLION years to earn a trillion dollars.

If you make a million dollars a year (wow!), it'll still take you a million years to earn a trillion dollars.

Tax the rich.

A primer in why MAGA/GOP loves the government shutdown:

They hate anything in govt that works.
Bad job/economic statistics won't be reported.
Healthcare premiums rise, threatening Obamacare.
The poor won't get food support.
They can continue to destroy govt programs without oversight.
Add your own:

Imagine, if you will, this headline with the word “Jews” substituted for the word “women”:

“Did Jews Ruin the Workplace?”

Disgusting, right?

Well, it’s just as disgusting that this is an acceptable question to debate about women.

The misogyny is staggering — and so normal.

Still.

No food aid for the poor.
Disruptions to air travel for vacations or to see family or for business
Deteriorating conditions at national parks, the National Weather Service, and other critical federal functions.
More layoffs.
All so the Republicans and MAGA can destroy Obamacare at last.

Dear Bill Gates,
If Trump loves your climate statement and you say he misunderstood it, and if climate scientists don't like your climate statement and you say they also misunderstood it, maybe the problem is your #climate statement.
