Posting old pinned thread from the bad place from April 2021. Feels appropriate as a record of everything we warned would play out.

The ultimate irony is that ICE can wear masks - but *citizens* may not - and may be arrested for doing so even if they are NOT on federal property!

The biggest threats to our democracy come from the right.

And yet human rights, pro Palestine, and climate activists get greater restrictions and punitive actions than alt right fascists.

Canada loses its official ‘measles-free’ status – and the US will follow soon, as vaccination rates fall.

🔹2020–2023: Only 16 measles cases nationwide
🔹2024: Jumped to 100+ cases
🔹2025: Surged to 5,000+ cases

If Evidence Based Medicine has a poster child, it's the 2015 Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Control study claiming N95s interfere with breathing in pregnant women.

Here's their setup, which they described as "simulating the actual wearing of an N95 respirator".

Hearing now that @chrismurphyct.bsky.social will allow the fast-tracking of the capitulation CR.

If any senator objects, the bill passage could be delayed until Friday. But apparently zero Senators have objected to the scheduling motion on the hotline.
Zero!
I got back to my office after the vote last night and recorded this. There's no way to sugarcoat what happened. And my fear is that Trump gets stronger, not weaker, because of this acquiescence. I'm angry - like you. But I choose to keep fighting.

The transition to clean energy is about economics.
Wood Mackenzie confirms new natural gas generation is expensive!

$126/MWh in 2030!

New solar plus batteries are less than half the cost of new gas!

New nuclear ($139/MWh) also is getting close to being cheaper than new gas!

Gas too is dirty, biggest CO2 electricity polluter. #energysky

She’s not wrong.

When we’re born, we have about 300 bones, but over time, we end up with just 206, because many fuse together as we grow.

And here’s a fun fact: Bone is a living tissue that constantly renews itself. Your skeleton is completely new about every 7-10 years.

My partner facing amputation but ppl want to get up on my mentions tone policing as if talking about the pandemic past tense is going to change this.
Notice how that's thread relates to everything I'm talking about this morning. See time stamps. 7nmohths ago my partner faced amputation.. (which he still technically faces now until his wound heals and maybe still even after. Charcot doesn't magically heal without reconstructive surgery.)

real men have not the fear of other men, women or gays.

real men are comfortable as to who they are. real threats come from those who are in serious fear of their sexuality..

and men who carry guns because theit dicks are tiny, teeny and microsoft.
You cannot separate the current nightmare we now inhabit from the collapse/crisis in how rich, powerful middle-aged men perceive masculinity, especially their own insecurities.

Remember when Biden dropped the COVID isolation guidelines down to just 5 days, not because of any actual medical science, but because the Delta CEO asked him to?

Our lives have always been meaningless to establishment Dems compared to the profits of the donor class.
It just makes it look like they said, oh, shit, I had to scrap my weekend at the lake house because my flight was canceled. Or worse, the airlines called and I sold out my constituents at the order of the Delta CEO. I’m no Senate whisperer but when people look at the math it isn’t great.
