I led my @cbc.house.gov colleagues to sound the alarm for millions of Americans covered by the ACA marketplace who stand to lose their health insurance because Republicans refuse to extend enhanced premium tax credits.

When the Republican-led Education & Workforce committee holds more hearings on “American boxing” than school safety or teacher pay.

Make it make sense 🤦🏽‍♂️

Complete frauds.

Deeply saddened that heroic National Guard Spc. Sarah Beckstrom of West Virginia has died.

Praying for her family and Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe as he valiantly battles for his life.

Together we must find a way to better protect those patriots who bravely defend and serve our nation.

Donald Trump lied when he promised to lower costs.

And as shoppers hit the stores today, they're seeing higher costs for the goods they want to purchase.

His economic policies are failing us. Billionaires are wealthier than ever. And working people are footing the bill.

Democrats are holding the line on health care because this issue impacts ALL of us. Even if you have the best health plan on the market, Republicans' gutting of Medicaid and ending ACA tax credits will cause your costs to go up by an average of $2,320 in CA-12. (1/2)

29 days into this shutdown, families are feeling the pain. Health care costs are rising. SNAP funding is on the line. It’s time for Trump and House Republicans to stop weaponizing hunger and start working with us to reopen the government and lower costs for everyone.

Millions of Americans are learning that the cost of their health care plan is rising because of inaction from Republicans.

But rather than extend ACA tax credits that lower health care costs, Republicans have shut the government down.

At Orchard Gardens, a public school in Roxbury, I asked the school nurses what the #1 issue is for kids who come to them.

Their response? Hunger.

Republicans are worsening this crisis every day through their government shutdown and policy CHOICES.

This is 100% preventable.

The American people continue to see that Republicans are not fighting for their healthcare. Millions of Americans might loose their healthcare entirely but the likes of Speaker Johnson and the Republicans keep ducking and not doing their job. It's time to come to DC and negotiate.

We will continue fighting to protect the sacred right to vote and defend the future of our democracy.

This Administration wants to repurpose our government to benefit the billionaires.

And only the billionaires.

That’s why Republicans shut down the government and want to raise your health care costs.

Still need proof a shutdown was always Trump’s plan?

Americans don’t want soaring health costs, lost jobs, or disrupted services.

For Trump, a shutdown is just an excuse to keep dismantling the government and gutting the programs people rely on.

Today, our country is facing a crisis entirely of the Republican Party’s making. Unfortunately, Black communities will be forced to bear the brunt of their political games.

Make no mistake: President Trump and the Republican majority in Congress own this shutdown.

Politics is supposed to be about compromising to do what’s best for the American people. But right now, the other side of the aisle is empty. Republicans aren’t here—because they don’t care about you, your health care, or even doing their jobs to keep the government open.
