@cleaver.house.gov
This is the official Bluesky page of Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II, representing Missouri's Fifth District (#MO05).
We have so much to be grateful for in the United States of America.

Today, I’m wishing everyone in #MO05 and across the country a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.

The president said that he would lower costs for hardworking families on Day One.

Instead, his tariff taxes are driving up prices on groceries and other everyday essentials.
If you’re making apple pie for your Thanksgiving spread this year, you’re going to see some price increases.

Granny smith apples are up 99% since last year.

For 10 months, Republicans in Congress have sat back and allowed this administration to move forward with countless unethical, unconstitutional, and deeply harmful actions without saying a word.

But when it comes to helping American families afford health care, they decide to push back.
Exclusive: Speaker Mike Johnson cautioned the White House that most House Republicans don’t have an appetite for extending enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies.

Republicans could have extended ACA tax credits earlier this year—but they chose to extend tax breaks for billionaires and giant corporations instead.

Now, working-class families are seeing their health care costs skyrocket.
Republicans are in a bind of Trump’s making: After voting to end the shutdown, they’ve yet to come up with a plan to tackle the upcoming spike in health care premiums.

We saw this same story during the president’s first term.

American farmers need open, stable markets—not empty promises from the CCP and the administration.

Instead of continuing the harmful tariffs and handing bailouts to Argentina, the president should provide relief to America’s farmers.
CNBC: My understanding is the White House said that China was gonna buy 12 million tons of soybeans from the US by January. That's approaching and they've only purchased 332,000. China has not confirmed that pledge.

At a time when political violence is on the rise, the president is pouring fuel on the fire by calling for his political opponents to be killed for saying that troops should follow the law.

It’s dangerous, disgraceful, and should be strongly condemned by all.
