For-profit prison companies are making record profits — HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS from taxpayer dollars — through the “Detention Industrial Complex” that ICE & the Trump administration has created.
House Republicans’ top priority this week?

Eliminating permit fees for Meta & the largest tech companies on planet earth, so that they can build undersea cables in marine sanctuaries.

Seriously.

The election denialism Trump and his sycophantic supporters in Congress have peddled to the American public threatens the core fabric of our democratic republic.

As Trump and his family make billions from crypto ventures, Attorney General Bondi eliminated the National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team in the Department of Justice.

It is not a coincidence.

Neguse as Bondi refuses to answer his questions: "You eliminated the National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team last year! So I understand why you don't want to tell the American people who works there. No one works there anymore." (Note Bondi responding with smears.)

Rep. Neguse: “The man in that video, the one…allegedly yelling 'kill em' at police officers on Jan. 6. His name is Jared Wise."

Bondi: "He does work for us."

Neguse: "This is who you choose…to hire at DOJ?"

Bondi: "I believe he was pardoned by President Trump."

NEGUSE: AG Bondi, that man works for you now, right? The man in that video from J6 yelling 'kill them!' at cops. His name is Jared Wise.

BONDI: He does work for us, yes. I believe he was pardoned

NEGUSE: And you expect hard-working police officers to believe you take law enforcement seriously?

Trump is telling the American people to ignore what we see with our own eyes.

That he is blatantly corrupting our government and ripping off hardworking American taxpayers.

And everyone knows it.

Trump’s reckless tariffs are a massive tax on every single hard-working American — period.

While hard-working Americans struggle to afford groceries, House Republicans are prioritizing their bill this week to eliminate excise taxes on . . . tasers.

Seriously.

Grocery prices are up. Unemployment is rising. Mortgage rates are climbing.

And what are House Republicans spending time on this week?

Undersea fiber optic cables.

An important step forward as we build support for our Magnus White Cyclist Safety Act. And I’m deeply grateful to his courageous parents for their tireless advocacy.

We’ll keep pushing to honor Magnus’s memory, and protect cyclists and pedestrians across the country.

Lindsey Vonn’s determination, courage and tenacity has inspired us all. Every Coloradan across our state — from Vail and far beyond — is incredibly proud of her, and the perseverance and resiliency she has shown!

Lindsey Vonn has always gone all-in, and these Olympics were no different
"I have always pushed the limits," Vonn said this week. She was always going to do it again on Sunday, risks be damned.

For months, @bennet.senate.gov and I have pushed back against the Nexstar Media-Tegna merger. Trump’s social media posts today again make it abundantly clear — this deal will have devastating consequences for Colorado & the American media landscape at large.

As a young Black man, there were few more inspiring public figures to me than Barack Obama.

Trump’s racist post is abhorrent, and it is unsurprising that a disgraced, twice-impeached President would slander President Obama in such a disgusting way.

It must be condemned by every American.

House Republicans canceled votes yesterday in Washington DC & many of them are done working for the week.

Not me!

Grateful to catch a red-eye flight last night back home and to host a “Congress on YOUR Corner” event at a local RTD station bright and early this morning.

I’ll keep showing up!

The House chamber was mostly empty. I’m unsure how many will ultimately hear it.

But I spoke today to sound an alarm for our nation.

To alert the country of the wholesale corruption engulfing our government & the work we must do end it.

I hope my fellow Americans will listen.
