Fighting for the people, lands, water, and farms of Northern & Western Colorado ⛰️. Husband. Dad of two awesome kids. Attorney. Proud Coloradan.
Grateful to everyone who came out on a snowy day for our mobile office hours in Longmont yesterday to meet with me and our team — enjoyed visiting directly with constituents on a wide range of issues!

As energy costs skyrocket, the Trump administration’s solution is apparently a useless advisory “National Coal Council” which, incidentally — 9 months later — still has no members! 🤦🏽‍♂️

🚨NEWS:

After I led a bipartisan coalition calling for immediate action, the Secure Rural Schools Reauthorization Act has been scheduled for a vote next week!

Proud to have led the push in getting this crucial lifeline for rural communities in Western Colorado and beyond to the House floor.

House Republicans held a hearing yesterday on balancing the federal budget.

Of course, even their own witness conceded that Trump’s reckless tax bill will increase the deficit by TRILLIONS of dollars.
December 4, 2025 at 2:11 PM
As Trump’s economic policies and tariffs devastate small businesses and American families — House Republicans have proposed a solution:

A new government complaint “hotline.”

Apparently, the dozen of hotlines that already exist were insufficient.

When the Republican-led Education & Workforce committee holds more hearings on “American boxing” than school safety or teacher pay.

Make it make sense 🤦🏽‍♂️

Members of Congress should be banned from ever becoming lobbyists.

PERIOD.

That’s why I’m leading an effort with @ocasio-cortez.house.gov to enact that exact prohibition into law.

The elusive “health care plan” that House Republicans have claimed to be developing for years is now crystal clear — slashing and repealing vital healthcare programs, from Medicaid and Medicare to the ACA.

I’ll keep fighting against it.

The cameras may have come and gone, but the damage from the terrible fire last month in Nederland remains.

Grateful to visit with local leaders to discuss the ongoing recovery. I’ll keep showing up & continue to do everything I can to support the community in the months ahead.

House Republicans have presided over the most unproductive Congress since the 1930’s — literally.

Grateful to start the day with my daughter Natalie as we cheered on thousands of our neighbors at the annual Louisville Turkey Trot!

Wishing you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving! 🥧 🦃 🍂

“Service is what life is all about"

The words of Marian Wright Edelman — the first Black woman admitted to the Mississippi Bar — are a reminder for each of us to do our part in serving our community.

This Thanksgiving, let’s continue to take it to heart, as we help our fellow Coloradans in need.

Grateful to spend time yesterday at Coal Creek Meals on Wheels in Lafayette helping serve Thanksgiving lunch. I’m thankful for the many hardworking staff and volunteers whose compassion and service bring comfort and joy to our community during the holiday season. 🙏🏽 🍽️ 🥧

Back in Colorado & working hard — grateful to visit with constituents during our office hours today, and to have my daughter Natalie join me while she’s on Thanksgiving break!

No administration has done more damage to our environment — in a shorter period of time — than the Trump administration.

None.

Had a wonderful time yesterday helping kick off Boulder's holiday lights ceremony downtown. Always a joy to celebrate this annual tradition & start the holiday season with our community. ✨ 🎄

Incredibly honored to be named by the Center for Effective Lawmaking as the most effective House Democrat for advancing environment & public lands policy!

Last year, 8 of my bills were signed into law — the 2nd most in the U.S. House — & I’ll keep delivering results for Western & Northern Colorado.

We made progress this week in our effort to ban stock-trading by Members of Congress.

Representatives shouldn’t be trading stocks — and neither should the Director of the FBI!
November 23, 2025 at 4:07 PM
The disturbing reports on the Trump administration’s changes to what constitutes “hate incidents” are dangerous — and similar to what they are doing at our National Parks. It is shameful, and every American should denounce it.
November 21, 2025 at 2:35 PM
As the Representatives for Colorado’s Western Slope, Rep. Hurd & I both commend the CWCB for its important step forward on the Shoshone Water Rights decision. And we’ll continue working together to secure the funding to make this effort successful — which is critical to the communities we serve. 👇🏽
November 21, 2025 at 1:13 PM
For four years, I’ve worked across the aisle to end stock trading in Congress.

Today’s hearing on our legislation in the House Administration Committee is a critical step.

But the time for action is NOW.

It is time for a vote on the House Floor, and for us to get this done!

The corruption in Trump's Washington knows no bounds.
November 18, 2025 at 5:50 PM
The effort by some Republican Senators to secure million-dollar paydays at taxpayer’s expense is Washington D.C. at its worst.
November 15, 2025 at 10:10 PM
The Republican-led House has been in session for 12 days since August 3rd.

The most unproductive Congress in modern history.
